Happy Caturday: rain storm caught orange cats by surprise.

My train journey was much more pleasant than last time as the sky along the way was heavy with dark clouds. We were expecting a nice and powerful rain storm in a few days. This came as a big relief as several trees were shedding their leaves. The first rain storm of this month came as soon as we arrived in our driveway. I was so thankful for this refreshing rainfall. My tuk-tuk driver was complaining earlier that all his flowering trees were about to die as they shed leaves and he couldn’t find any flowers for the vendors two days in a roll.

So, this unexpected rain made him very happy; he didn’t believe the weatherman any more. During the last two weeks, I had been praying for rain everyday. The soil became very dry and hard; this year we didn’t even have random or occasional light showers as previous year. This was a cause for concern and a warning about drastic changes in future weather.

My orange cat came up to greet me after the driver left the driveway. I was very surprised to see how fat Kwan has become. I would have to put my cats on a diet again. Last time this plan worked out very well. I would give them a mixture of wet and dry food in smaller portions but they would be allowed some little food at night to prevent them from feeling hungry. I just wanted to get orange cats to accept the feeling of being almost full.

Kwan always came to see me first as Joan was still roaming the nearby fields in the evening. I had to spend up to fifteen minutes listening to her complaining and comforting her. Once she felt at peace and satisfied that I had understood her feelings. Joan would quietly come to grret me wihout saying any words. These two sibling cats had very different temperaments. Joan was quiet, reserved and gentle. Kwan was emotional, expressive and more lively. These two have become my lovely companions.

I was so glad to hear the sounds of tree branches being pushed and bent by sudden strong wind. This told me to shut all the windows as more dusty wind with dry leaves would be swirling around the house. As the sound of strong winds became louder and stronger in intensity, orange cats went into hiding. They shoikd either be under my bed or the wooden cabinet. The rain suddenly poured down in furry as it had been held back for several weeks. I was quite relieved for the emotional outpouring of rain on the metal sheets roof. The atmosphere of the house became cooler and more pleasant.

I took my time unpacking and tidying things around the house before having my light dinner. The train journey took a lot of energy as the air-conditioning wasn’t working properly. Orange cats came out to see me after the rainstorm stopped. I hoped more rain would come again in a few days. My cats liked to sleep inside the house when the weather became cooler. Then I could take photos of them sleeping on the east table. Things changed so fast and time just flew by much faster than I thought. I hoped my cats wouldn’t change too fast and remain loving towards each other forever.

Wishing you peace, good health and prosperity.

Stay strong and cheerful.

I am not a fan of rain, but in your case it must be a relief to the people and the dry land. I hope your weather is more cooperative.

The orange beauties are the closest two cats I've ever seen. You are fortunate to have them. Perhaps they were indeed your two guards in a past life. If that's the case, you don't have to fear anything.

Yup! Several trees were shedding leaves to survive. So the rain has saved many trees from perishing.
The rainy season will start soon. The river will have the chance to renew herself with more rain water. Water is vital to healthy living here. I should find a new way to harvest rainwater.

Orange cats are getting really heavy so I try to reduce their food a bit. But my gardener tends to give them too much.
I am glad orange cats are always loving towards each other. I keep telling them they are the only two cats from the same family. So they should look after each other.
I wish they would make more noises to give me warning when they see something suspicious!

Have a nice day!

Strong winds are very unsettling even for us humans! Thankfully, nothing bad happened and you finally got some relief from the rainfall. Your cats are getting so big and they could not be any cuter snuggling up together.

Yup! Local people are very frightened by strong wind. They would rush back home to take shelter! We are lucky to have tall forest trees around the garden to protect the house from being lifted! Cats are very sensitive to loud wind noises howling away! They would find a small den to hide.
