Beautiful Sunday: cycling around looking for another cannabis farm.
Almost two months ago, I was told that there’s another cannabis farm on the other side of the village. So, I decided to cycle around the village lanes searching for the new farm. I started late in the afternoon so I wouldn’t have the time to visit this farm. Firstly I had to locate the weeds farm so I could drop by later. The countryside roads were mostly empty so I couldn’t ask for more information from villagers.
The lady (from the first farm I visited) told me that this cannabis/ weeds farm was near the big new house with large front yard. I cycled around the area a few times but I could see any weeds farm. There were rice fields and fruit orchards on the left and right sides. I was quite puzzled and decided to catch the sunset by the river instead. As I was turning around, I saw some movements with a truck at the end of the fence of the big house.
There seemed to be a side entrance to the weeds farm. Some workers were unloading something from the pickup truck. I could see many fruit trees inside the compound but I was too far away to spot any cannabis plants. I guessed I would have to drop by this farm again by the front entrance on the other side of the main road. There were three big guard dogs walking in front of the house. I didn’t want to startle these dogs with my sudden movement across the front yard. They would think that I was trespassing.
So, I could get on with my routine of cycling along the river to watch the sunset. The sunset in winter month seemed to be much brighter and more colourful. During rainy season, the sky was too cloudy and most of the times the sunsets were hidden in thick clouds. The air was still cool making cycling very pleasant.
I was so glad that very few town cyclists came here. They already had a long stretch of bike lanes in town and along the river. These town cyclists were very well off as they would ride with professional clothing gears for cyclists. They were mostly riding expensive mountain bikes. These were usually middle aged people with their own businesses or civil servants. Villagers here would go cycling in old clothes or shorts and T shirts. Town cyclists always wore cyclists’ helmets too, with water bottles on their bikes.
The river was always calming and relaxing for my mind. I could forget all my concerns to focus on natural scenery and listen to natural sounds. Cycling made me felt like sitting on a flying carpet. This bike was a fast bike which could speed up very quickly. I often had the difficulty of stopping my bike safely and had fallen sideways several times. I am addicted to fast bicycle which could take me to my destination very quickly.
The dry season has started and the level of the river has been receding lately. Villagers would have a hard time find fish in the river. Things have been changing slowly along the river. Sometimes there’s a surprising change by the river. I noticed some construction on the piece of land by the riverfront. It seemed someone was building a house with the view of the river and sunsets.
On the other side of the village, some landowners were in the process of leveling their land for building a new house. So, more people seemed to be moving to the countryside. There appeared to be more expats taking their long stays in rented apartments in town. Perhaps some were thinking of a safe place to live in case of WWlll. But many analysts said it has already started. Things on the world stage are getting dicey. I was so glad to be far away from the madding crowds in a far away land.
Wishing you peace, good health and prosperity.
Stay strong and cheerful.

Thanks so much for your wonderful support.
May I ask why you did not start a cannabis farm? Is it only restricted to a certain group of people? It seem like a stable source of income because can be grown indoors too. Not that I'm interested. Just curious only.
It’s very complicated and requires lots of investment and trustworthy people!
Thank you for your enlightening reply!
