Beautiful Sunday: boat trip in the evening.
During the weekend, I took a boat trip to a pier next to the Grand Palace. I didn’t intend to visit the Grand Palace as it would be too crowded during the weekend. I promised myself to visit an old temple a few minutes’ walk from the pier. This old temple was celebrating its 338th year anniversary. So, all the halls would be opened to the public and there would be flea market and other events for the public to join in. This visit to the old temple would be recorded in another post later.
I had a very good time at the temple, I had no idea that the temple area was so large. I walked around the various halls and surveyed different markets until the light was dimming. So, I hurried to the pier as these express boats would become scarce after rush hours. I haven’t take a boat trip in the evening for a long time. So, I looked forwards to seeing the river after the sunset.
Luckily, I arrived at the right time for catching the last few minutes of the sunset. I had forgotten how beautiful sunset could be by the river. The colours were so calming and the sky seemed surprisingly peaceful. Other passengers waiting on the pier seemed to become very quiet and spelled bound by the calming vibes from the sky.
We got on the boat and I found some empty seat near the front. I sat on the right side so that I could take photos of skyscrapers at night. The weather was very pleasant with breezes and sounds of waves breaking by the speeding boat. I was able to take some photos of Wat Arun (the Temple of Dawn). But the lighting used around the temple was too orange somehow. There were tourists getting on the boat as the temple has closed after sunset.
I could spot some cruise boats with tourists having their dinner cruise on the river. LED lights have become very popular for decorating boats, bridges, restaurants and buildings. The reflections of various light colours on the river made the river more lively and less intimidating in the dark night.
But these lights on government buildings and military fort did make these places looking more like cartoon illustrations. The fearsome fort turned out to be like a cafe at night! I thought that was very funny. Those who ordered the lighting decorations never had a look at the result in the night. Several restaurants and cafes along the river managed to use these lightings to make them very attractive and beautiful. The ambience along the river at night was so lively and mysterious at the same time.
The lure of colourful lightings seemed like some kind of bait to attract people’s attention while making them lower their guards. Suddenly I became suspicious of all these lightings and their reflections. I was afraid if we went too near, we might be trapped in another dimension full of big bubbles. These coloured bubbles would trap the bait inside so it would be like transparent prisons for the poor person. My mind started to run away with my imagination as I continued to stare at the moving waves against the boat.
The bright lights at IconSiam woke me up from being hypnotised by the spells of the underwater spirits. The whole IconSiam looked so different from daytime perception. The stark lighting had frightened away the underwater spirits. I could take hold of my thoughts and imagination again. I had no idea how I almost slipped into the enchanted world of underwater spirits and invisible beings. It was as if my sonar picked up some signals which arouse the interest of those senders in a different reality. I should be more watchful of unintended connections with energy from other dimension.
I was glad to be near the solid ground of the pier as I still needed to operate in this world. It had been a long day of mental and physical activities. That’s probably why I was a bit tired and weaker mentally. However, it was a good experience to take a boat trip at night to feel the different ambiance and energies. But it was good to be walking on solid ground at the pier. I had to walk about ten minutes to the car park. I suddenly felt very tired by the time I got home. The next few days I found my self on boat trips again as I had to revisit the old temple again.
Wishing you peace, good health and prosperity.
Stay strong and cheerful.

I just loved being on this river. It is absolutely exhilarating. Thanks for rekindling the great memories. I did not go to the Grand Palace with the boat but it would have been nice I'm sure.
Wishing you all the best!
Thanks. Next time you’ll have to take the boat trip to Wat Arun and the Grand Palace.
