English Version In 2021, at just 18 years old, while studying the second semester of Physics at UFMG, Laysa Peixoto made headlines in several Brazilian newspapers for her successful participation in a NASA collaboration campaign to research new asteroids in partnership with the citizen science program The International Astronomical Search Collaboration. The personal achievement became an obsession for the young woman who describes herself as curious, dreamy and who jokes that she lives with her head in the clouds. Since then, Laysa dropped out of her undergraduate studies in Brazil to participate in courses in the United States such as the Advanced Space Academy in Huntsville, Alabama. Since then, Laysa says she took a NASA astronaut course, and the course she participated in is a training course for students from 13 years of age, available to anyone from two thousand dollars, lasting only one week. Despite the absurd statement made by the young woman, who was just over twenty years old, her press office told the main newspapers in Brazil that Laysa would become the first Brazilian astronaut in one of the most unusual pieces of news in journalism, since she is not yet an astronaut, much less has any guarantee of her space trip.
