Hello Hivers 💕💘,

The lemongrass is very common in west African Nigeria and a must cases in some homes. So many people try as much as possible to cultivate it by planting it in their garden. Making it more visible when it multiply and utilize its space. Wherever you plant the lemongrass it will always multiply and utilize its face even when you plant it inside the mobile Seedbed. I have sometimes cultivated it my transplanting it in another environment and guess what its yielded well only for the dry season to take it off.

So as a farmer we should also determine which season you want to plant it. But In most cases, it is mostly planted during raining season when we have so much rainfall that occurs every other day. So when you transplant the lemon grass or the tea grass, it will always show the sign of good good and development within 14 days after you might have transplanted it into another environment. That is when you will be rest assured that the lemongrass is active 100%.

You can see in the pictures that they are looking extremely Green with good leaf proportion. When you have a plant like this it means that there is constant water supply to the root which makes it grow more everyday. I always visit the lemongrass section everyday although I increased the stand by applying a lot of organic manure to moisturize the soil effectively. I took some pictures of the lemongrass and how to make use of it in terms of herbs.

  • This is how the lemongrass looks like which brings about many roots. Just one lemongrass plants can give birth to so many lemongrass. that means, if the sun is very far fine it will multiply in root more than what you can ever imagine.

You can uproot the lemongrass this way. Then you can also transplant it with the same rate at which you have uprooted it. That means that instantly when you uproot the lemongrass it is advisable that within the range of 24 hours to 48 hours with most reach another soil type, so that it can start new life as well.

The way you also cut or fetch the Lemongrass plant also is more important. Why I said this is because, you only have one option and the option is that when the lemongrass is fully grown up with multiple leaves and root. it may not quickly die off. But when it is just starting its life and you fetch it it may reduce itself lifespan.

The leaves are very sharp something that it can cut off your fingers if it is not properly handed. You must ensure that when setting the leaves you hold the leaves very tight. When it is very tight you can use your hand to fetch it or you cut it off with sharp object like knife or cutlass or sickle.

When you want to transfer or transplant the lemongrass is must be very early in the morning or late in the evening just like any other crop. When you transport it in the afternoon it's me absorb a lot of heat and it may die of within two to four days after transplanting.

I have also lemongrass plants here, and I agree they grow best during the rainy season. The smell of lemongrass is so relaxing and I love using it for tea and cooking. Its true also that when you give the, enough care and organic fertilizer they grow fast and strong. i also sell lemongrass in our community.
