WORST TRAVELLING EXPERIENCE DURING RAINING SEASON

It can be interesting to travel at times, and some other time it Gould be a nightmare. You are lucky if the weather chooses to be nice and friendly and offers no disturbance of any kind but reverse is the case when it starts to pour heavily. The issue with travelling especially in Nigerian is that we choose when it is convenient for us not minding the weather for that day, but when that day comes, it's like the rain is unstoppable making the start of the journey uncomfortable. This is one of the reasons why I don't like to travel during rainy season especially when I have to Carry plenty of loads, but I have no choice.

One time, a friend of mine invited us to her wedding in Delta state, Warri where she made me part of her bridesmaid, we were close enough in school so I accepted and prepared for the journey ahead. My base to Warri was quite a distance because I had to enter three different vehicles before reaching the final destination. From my town to Benin, Benin to Warri and Warri to the bride's location. The weather was not friendly at all as it had started to rain as early as 2pm in the wee hours of the morning. As I slept I hoped that by morning it would have stopped but it was still showering heavily.

I had no choice but to go ahead with the plan of travelling, because the weeking of the wedding was upon us. It was a really messy journey for me, one that tampered with my steeze and composure😂. To make things worse, the roads were so bad that if the drivers are not careful, they would end up with a destroying their vehicle. At one point, the road was so bad that potholes had eaten deep in them and it was so muddy, we, the passengers had to come down and trek a distance to allow the drive cross over. Apparently, the heavy rain that fell that night had destroyed the roads.

I had to endure with the bad public transport vehicles that practically had no windows on one side, the driver used a big black nylon as a means of protection but it was not helping at all, the rain fell in and we got wet. The passengers complained and complained but there was nothing he could do. The journey was one of discomfort throughout, on getting to my destinal I was all damp and my hair was rough, I had to walk through water at some point because the area was flooded😢

This was one of my worst experience of travelling so far and somehow I have made up my mind to avoid long distance traveling except it is very very important. For ocassions like weddings and so on, I would send a git or an envelope across.
