Sublime Sunday, and more goodies!

A friend just got back from Europe, visiting Denmark, Germany, Poland, and the Baltics.

Judging from her animated stories, she had a lovely time at these places, particularly Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.

She did say that these countries are small, but she was awed by her experiences and loved their cuisine very much! They visited an eco-farm, among other things, as well as tasted cider from a cider house. Of course, they visited museums and cathedrals.

I think she enjoyed her tour partly because they had a fun tour guide!

And she brought me all these goodies...

She also learned how to make Kibinai, a Lithuanian pastry. As she was telling me about it, she showed me photos of how it looked!

I found the Kibinai Recipe on YouTube below, which is very much like the Empanadas that I make.



Hmmm... sounds good with my Matcha Green Tea Latte, my newest craze!

A Matcha Green Tea Latte is made of finely ground green tea powder, milk, and sweetener. It is very soothing and has a bit of a caffeine kick!

MTB silver bar commissioned through Engelhard. It looks like they used two of their SOL silver rounds and a specially marked silver bar for that!
$6,000 or $60/oz. Not bad!

Looks yummy.

Having a good tour guide makes things so much more enjoyable when you do a tour in a foreign country. I have had good ones and bad ones. The good ones make it fun, share the good places to go and the bad places. They even share the shady places if you're a young Marine looking to drink a lot :-)

LOL, indeed, @coinjoe! I went to Europe and toured Italy. Our regular tour guide had an emergency, and goodness, we had a not-so-good day with his replacement. Maybe I was tired, but I fell asleep! That's how boring she was.

Ooh, those cookies look pretty good! I just picked up some delicious molasses cookies this past weekend from a little Amish stand. They are probably some of the best molasses cookies I have had in a long time.

The cookies were truly good, @bozz! It was not too sweet. Ooh, I love molasses cookies especially because my Mom used to make them so soft! I'll make some in the future. It's her recipe!

No problem! My mom's used to be soft right after they were baked, but then eventually the would get hard. I don't think she has made any in a long time. Her sugar cookies are usually what get all the requests.

Hmmm... maybe my Mom's molasses cookies were always soft because we ate it so quickly, usually within six hours? Hmmmm... let me bake a batch on the weekend and see how it turns out. I never thought of that!!!

That looks so good! I'm glad she enjoyed her trip, I've never made it to Estonia or Lithuania. Always has been on the bucket list, just never made it that far east. I guess a tour guide is a nice thing to have when you don't speak any of the language, I would be lost. That was nice of her to bring you goodies back!

Thanks for the description of what a matcha latte is, despite seeing it numerous times, I didn't know what it's made of, or that it had caffeine kick!

Amazing variety of goodies. Europe has some incredible landscapes.
