One afternoon, I sliced one ripe, bright red, and sun-warmed pepper from my garden. Nestled inside were the seeds, like tiny secrets! While holding one between my fingers, it occurred to me that from this pepper plant, which I grew from the soil I've turned, watered, and watched... now it offered its future in miniature!

Weeks later, I tucked the seeds into starter pots just beneath the surface. The soil was soft, and I kept the air warm by putting the pots under a light. I whispered encouragement, although I thought they didn't need it, because nature knows its rhythm. Still, I checked each morning before leaving for work, like a parent peeking into a crib!

I grinned when the first sprouts appeared... A tiny green loop, reaching up. It's funny how something so small can feel like a triumph!
There are four seedlings; each one stands in its own little pot. They are teeny, barely an inch tall, with just a single pair of leaves each. Their growth is quiet and slow, and still matters.

What will they become? Will they grow tall, lanky, and strong like their parent plant? Will their peppers be sweet or spicy? Will they make great hot pepper jelly?

It's way too early to tell!!! They're just small beginnings, and so full of mystery!

They grow a little more each day... not much, but enough to notice... enough to feel proud! The seeds from which tiny plants came were from just one plant! And now there are four more!

It's a quiet act of abundance... just the garden being kind, like it always is.
