A giant greeting to all my hive friends. Today I share with you one of my greatest pleasures.

Un saludo gigante para todos mis amigos hives. Hoy comparto con ustedes uno de mis mayores gustos.

A few hours ago, while reflecting on what to share with you, my Ecency friends, I sought inspiration in my photo library. Upon observing the images I keep with so much affection, I realized the innumerable amount of photographs dedicated to sweets: from jams to drinks like shakes, everything that I have enjoyed.

Hace unas horas, mientras reflexionaba sobre qué compartir con ustedes, mis amigos de Ecency, busqué inspiración en mi fototeca. Al observar las imágenes que guardo con tanto cariño, me di cuenta de la innumerable cantidad de fotografías dedicadas a lo dulce: desde confituras hasta bebidas como batidos, todo aquello que he disfrutado.

It doesn’t surprise me the existence of these photos, since I am a confessed lover of sweets, of sugar and of almost everything that has been created with it. For me, life without desserts is unimaginable. I can tell you that one of my terrors is being Diabetic, I wouldn’t bear it, that’s why I try not to exaggerate with the consumption of this “drug”. However, every time I have an opportunity, I delight myself with some jam or try a dessert in order to satisfy that craving.

No me sorprende la existencia de estas fotos, pues soy una amante confesa de lo dulce, del azúcar y de casi todo lo que con ella ha sido creado. Para mí, la vida sin postres es inimaginable. Puedo contarles que uno de mis terrores es ser Diabética, no lo soportaría, por eso trato de no exagerar con el consumo de esta "dogra". Sin embargo cada vez que tengo una oportunidad, me deleito con alguna confitura o pruebo un postre con tal de satisfacer ese antojo.

Often, while sitting at work, suddenly I crave eating something sweet. Even, my boyfriend conquered me, as they say, with candies, haha! The treats he had at his house were the perfect excuse to visit me for the first time and, in turn, to have a date. This detail, so significant, I hadn’t thought of it this way until recently, when reviewing my photographs. That explains how much I like sweets.

A menudo, estando sentada en el trabajo, de repente se me antoja comer algo dulce. Incluso, mi novio me conquistó, como se dice, con golosinas, ¡jaja! Las chucherías que tenía en su casa fueron la excusa perfecta para visitarme por primera vez y, a su vez, tener una cita. Este detalle, tan significativo, no lo había pensado de este modo hasta hace poco, al revisar mis fotografías. Eso explica lo mucho que me gusta lo dulce.

Clearly, I’m more on the sweet team than the salty one. If you offer me a pizza, a sandwich or any salty food, and at the same time an ice cream, a churro or any other sugary delight, we know very well what my answer will be. What can I say, I’m guilty, I’m a sweet tooth if we’re talking about sugar.

Claramente, soy más del equipo dulce que del salado. Si me ofreces una pizza, un sándwich o cualquier comida salada, y a la vez un helado, un churro o cualquier otra delicia azucarada, sabemos de sobra cuál será mi respuesta. Qué puedo decir, soy culpable, soy una golosa si de azúcar estamos hablando.

I don’t want to blame anyone, but my mother has a great influence on this part of my palate. Since I was little, I’ve lived surrounded by the richest desserts, those that my mom prepared every weekend: rice pudding, cakes, chocolate with milk and cookies, homemade condensed milk, flan (which can’t be missing, being one of my favorites), pudding, guava shells, dulce de leche and many more.
So, does she have a part in this matter or not? Haha!

No quiero echarle la culpa a nadie, pero mi madre tiene una gran influencia en esta parte de mi paladar. Desde pequeña he vivido rodeada de los postres más ricos, esos que mi mamá preparaba cada fin de semana: arroz con leche, panetelas, chocolate con leche y galletas, leche condensada casera, flan (que no puede faltar, siendo uno de mis favoritos), pudín, casquitos de guayaba, dulce de leche y muchos más.
Entonces ¿Tiene ella parte en este asunto o no? ¡Jaja!

The best thing is that each image I have tells a moment, and I remember all of them in detail.
For example, this chocolate ice cream shake was on a day when my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, little niece and I were bored at home in San Agustín and decided to spend the afternoon at Café Aroma.

Lo mejor es que cada imagen que tengo cuenta un momento, y todos los recuerdo con detalle.
Por ejemplo, este batido de helado de chocolate fue un día en que mi suegra, cuñada, sobrina pequeña y yo estábamos aburridas en la casa en San Agustín y decidimos pasar la tarde en el Café Aroma.

There are also these delicious combined ice creams that my boyfriend bought me while we were walking through the center of Tapachula. It was the first time we walked through the city. He knows he can give me flowers and it’s wonderful, but if he gives me sweets or desserts, it’s magnificent.

También están estos sabrosos helados combinados que mi novio me compró mientras caminábamos por el centro de Tapachula. Fue la primera vez que caminamos por la ciudad. Él sabe que puede regalarme flores y es maravilloso, pero si me regala dulces o postres, es magnífico.

I can’t forget this shelf full of chocolate bars, which I photographed at the Lima airport in Peru, where it was our first stop when leaving our native country, being the first foreign country we set foot in.

No puedo olvidar este estante repleto de barras de chocolate, el cual fotografié en el aeropuerto de Lima, Perú, donde fue nuestra primera escala al salir de nuestro país natal, siendo el primer país extranjero que pisábamos.

This is my beautiful niece Valentina, who is not my blood niece, but it’s almost as if she were, since I know her from when she was in her mother’s womb, who is my best friend, and I’ve seen her grow every day. That day, her mother had an errand and left her with me to take care of her in the afternoon, and I gladly accepted. With not much to do at home and with some bills I had, we decided to have an ice cream. This fact also marks an important moment, since it was shortly before I left the country.

Esta es mi bella sobrina Valentina, que no es mi sobrina de sangre, pero es casi como si lo fuera, ya que la conozco desde que venía en el vientre de su madre, quien es mi mejor amiga, y la he visto crecer cada día. Ese día, su madre tuvo una diligencia y me la dejó para que la cuidara por la tarde, y yo con mucho gusto acepté. Sin mucho que hacer en mi hogar y con unos billetes que tenía, decidimos tomarnos un helado. Este hecho también marca un momento importante, ya que fue poco antes de irme del país.

And another relevant moment is this image of me holding an Oreo ice cream, which I discovered here in Mexico, in what was my first job in this country. And so, many more, all these photographs of sweets that I observe tell an almost always important fact of my life, and I believe that’s why they are kept with affection, so that my memories come alive when seeing them.

Y otro momento relevante es esta imagen de mí sosteniendo un helado de Oreo, el cual conocí aquí en México, en el que fue mi primer trabajo en este país. Y así, muchas más, todas estas fotografías de dulces que observan cuentan un hecho casi siempre importante de mi vida, y creo que por eso están guardadas con cariño, para que mis memorias revivan al verlas.

Therefore, I can conclude that I will continue enjoying sugar made into wonders, and especially if it marks a relevant event in my life.

Por lo que puedo concluir que seguiré disfrutando del azúcar hecha maravilla, y en especial si marca un acontecimiento relevante de mi vida.
