Sticky Rice Cakes Or Sapin-Sapin: Just A Small Pleasure But Brought Me Joy
Hi friends of the Hive, it's great to have you here! 🌷
Hope you're doing great, and have an amazing day! 💗
Today's topic is about sticky rice cakes, or what we call "Sapin-Sapin".
Every morning, kuya (the vendor) uses his "potpot" or horn to announce his arrival.
That's one of the vendors' ways here in the Philippines to attract customers and draw our attention to their presence.
So every time I hear it, I grab my wallet and head out to meet the vendor.
It was a ritual I'd grown accustomed to, especially after discovering my unexpected love for sapin-sapin during my second pregnancy.
Before then, I wouldn't have considered myself a fan of this traditional treat.
But something about being pregnant triggered a craving that I couldn't ignore.
So from that moment on, the vendor's signal would send me rushing out the door, eager to satisfy my newfound taste for the chewy, sweet goodness of sapin-sapin.
Even after giving birth, the craving never faded. 😋
This is just a small pleasure, but one that brought me joy every single day.
How about you? What's your favorite way to brighten up your day? ☺️
Until my next craving...
Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸
