When The Journey Becomes Tough

At the beginning of every year, we all get excited, we get fresh hopes, and we see possibilities ahead. This makes us set goals with the expectation that by the end of the year, we will be better off than we used to be.

Of a truth, there are so many advantages attached to setting goals, the one I love so much is its ability to make us work hard to reach expectations. A person running without a set goal is not different from a blind man walking alone, he is just moving without knowing where he is headed.

I used to be like that previously, and I saw my life yielding little to no results at all and I was wondering why. Until I got to know about setting goals through the Hive learners community. Ever since then, my life has transformed.

I didn't hesitate to set my goals for this year, I have already mapped out what I am expecting by the end of the year and I am already working towards it tirelessly. You know when you get a formula that works effectively for you, you wouldn't joke with it.

Nevertheless, setting goals also has its downside, nothing hurts so much as setting goals and not achieving them. This is the fear of many people. The bitter truth is life is so unpredictable, sometimes you might be doing all you can to see that you reach those goals but obstacles, challenges, and so on, may keep coming up trying to prevent you from reaching those goals, it happens, but how you respond in those trying times, is what will either make you a winner or a loser.

We all know how fast time flies, within a twinkle of an eye, you will discover that we are already in another month. So, what if by the middle of this year, I discovered that I am not making any progress on those sweet goals I set, What will I do?

Honestly, that sounds like a very tough question, because I don't even want to imagine it. Only God knows how bad I will feel. It will break me down emotionally and mentally. But will that solve the problem? Not at all, in fact, it may even add to it.

I have learned one thing recently, and that is how to laugh at my challenges instead of crying over them. The truth is I will be hurt so much but instead of beating myself up, I will take some time away from the chain, check my journey so far, see where I am missing it, re-strategize, and come back.

I watched a movie, and one of the characters said something that caught my attention "When you sit on a problem, you will get the solution". There is no problem that doesn't have a solution, it all depends on you, are you willing to sit on it, or are you ready to face it? If we choose to give our time trying to see what is wrong with something, we will eventually find it out.

I will set new goals after I know what the problem is because the first way to solve a problem is by finding what the fault is. After which I will double my efforts and try a different approach in the pursuit of my goals. The summary of it all is don't give up when you don't seem to be anywhere near your set goals and time seems to be running so fast, no, don't! instead, find out what the problem is and try another method.

Shout out to @kenechukwu97 thank you for this amazing prompt boss. We can't wait to have the next one.

Thanks For Reading

Laughing at your problems instead of allowing them to make you drop your head in agony is a very interesting idea. It's also something that helped me go through life when I noticed that I had an extra year in school.

I felt so broken, I ended up laughing instead of crying.

We don't know where problems may come from, but just like you said, there is always solution to problems. I like that idea 👍.

Thanks for getting involved with this edition of the challenge.

Allowing problems to weigh you down is what always keep people down, not even the problem itself. Falling is sure but we will never remain on the ground.

Thanks for this privilege boss, the pleasure is all mine🥰

There is a lot of advantage with setting goals and whether we achieve them after working hard towards them or not, we can't give up on them.

Allowing the disappointment of not reaching those goals get into our heads can be a terrible thing to do. It prevent us from even trying to try again, it's best to stand firm and just shoot that shot again.

Giving up is what makes one a failure and not necessarily the inability to get where or what we wanted.

There is nothing as terrible as holding unto our failures its a very big trap

What an interesting write-up bro, I really enjoyed reading the write-up.

The only thing I always do and encourage people around me is to come up with attainable plans to avoid failed plans because some plans are dead even before strategizing on how to make them a reality.

Thanks for sharing this bro

It's true, when we have realistic goals, it will save us from the stress of being scared of not being able to achieve them. That's why I always measure my strengths before setting any goal at all

It all lies within us. The ability to continue moving despite challenges goes a long way.

It is not a child's play, and I am glad you are not giving up nor seeing yourself as someone who can't set things right anymore.

You have mature approach, laughing at the problems shows precisely that. Rather to let them consume you and maybe destroy your mind, laugh... that's really powerful. But yes, life is unpredictable, how can we learn if not through hard work and big smile. 😂😁
A few smiles a day, keeps the problems a bay 😜

Heheh.. I love this response, the best way to learn is through hardwork and big smile indeed. Worrying over problems will never get them solved, the best thing to do it to smile at them and look for the way out.

Am so sorry for late reply..
