Weekend run! Tempo and relaxed

IMG_7443.jpeg

Hi all! Welcome back to my #running blog. For now I am in the last 6 weeks until the NN Marathon Rotterdam - were I aim to break 3:22:00 and get my revanche on Rotterdam 2024 (where I finshed 20 min later than my goal time due to an injury).

Sunday is normally my long run day, but the weekend was busy and especially today where we had a 500 km drive to visit friends. After coming back and bringing the kids to bed I was able to go for a run.

I decided to first have some fun by doing a short tempo run to make the most of the limited time that I have today. After resting a minute and thus resetting my heartrate I did a lower zone 3 run. Totalling 12.5 with the two combined runs.
Weekly total is a bit lower than normal 47km but I compensated by doing 45 min of jump rope to reduce the pressure on my knees a bit.

Today’s runs

  1. Short run

I didn’t go all out but wanted to release some excess energy. After Rotterdam I am looking forward to improve my times on shorter distances like 5km and 10km before signing in for the next marathon

2 Relaxed pace

After resetting my heartrate I went for a relaxed 10km. My heartrate varied between high zone 2 and lower zone 3. Which means this is a pace I should be able to hold during a marathon without too much trouble.

(500Km + 500Km drive) + father life + 12Km = King!

I'm sure I wouldn't run after such a day. Congrats!
