Saterday recovery run

Hi all! Welcome back to my running blog!

This Saterday morning I had some time for a short recovery run while my oldest is at her dancing class.

I noticed that last week, my sleep quality has declined quite a bit - most likely related to some changes / stress at work. Running is a great distraction to just let it go a bit. The focus on recovery is also smart when your sleep is less than optimal - as you already need rest , a hard training session would further add to your resting needs.

Despite the lack of quality sleep my recovery run went very well. I soley focused on running technique and keeping my heartrate below 135 bpm. I kept a good posture and ran very relaxed. My average pase with 5:10 / km on an average heartbeat of 133 bpm felt pretty nice.

The route I took was just so green! Everything has started to grow and it really felt like a small present to enjoy this surroundings when I am training.

Tomorrow a few of my friends will run the Leiden Marathon, while I will be sidelined for this and the Utrecht Marathon next week - I aim to go there and support them a bit!

The Dutch Marathon season is now peaking with 2-3 cool events every week! So will be fun to visit a few and see which events are cool to consider next season!

Rest is necessary but sometimes we also train to sleep better, than beautiful landscapes, now you have to be from the audience supporting your teammates. Best regards
