Evening run at 33C
Hi all welcome back to my running blog!
Here in the Netherlands our average annual temperature is 10.5 C, this afternoon I went for a short afternoon run at 33 C. Which for me is something I need to condition as I very much prefer running at sub 0 degrees vs running above 30 degrees.
Summer is coming! Which means I will focus on getting sun hours to ease the longer distances that will start soon again!
For now, I did a very gentle 5 km run where I noticed the heat as my average heartbeat was still +12 bpm above my regular rate at this pace. Furthermore I was sweating intensely so we got some work to do here!
The run itself was fun, good to be able to move a little after a busy day. Also due to the temperature there was no one else going outside (we Dutch people can’t handle a little sun 😝)
Where today was just an easy run, tomorrow I am set for hill repeats where I will take a friend with me to help him explore this workout. For tomorrow the expected temperature for tomorrow is 37 C, so I will definitely try to go early morning!
Happy running!
It’s always harder trying to run under a higher temperature. Don’t push yourself too hard. Just be consistent.
