I always find spotting birds like this to be pretty exciting. I think in part because they were something I didn't really notice much before I got into photography, but now I tend to look more in the skies and trees to see what I can find. It feels very rewarding to spot birds like this, as they are often perched very quietly like this or soaring right above you at any given time in the natural areas of Calgary. Most of the city has green areas or at least close access to rivers, so birds like the Peregrin Falcon will often be searching for prey during the day as part of everyday life. I was hoping to get a bit closer or see this bird as it took flight, but the patience of this falcon was something I could not overcome, so I was able to get a nice handful of shots from a distance.
