My Hive Goals for 2025, The Week in Review for Sept. 20, 2025
I've always enjoyed the weekends ever since I was a little kid. Back then it meant no school and Saturday morning cartoons on television which I always looked forward to. Yes, this was a long time ago before cable channels and 24/7 cartoons. As a matter of fact, at that point there was no cable, so it was all broadcast over the air and everyone had an antennae on top of the house to watch television just like above. How times have changed...
As an adult I enjoy the weekends for the slower pace. For one thing, the traffic here in southern California is a lot better on the weekend. During the week it's a nightmare trying to drive up to Los Angles or down to San Diego! Today I took advantage of the day and went out to some advertised yard sales in the vicinity. Alas, I didn't find any treasures this time around. Maybe next week will be more lucky!
Cryptocurrency over the last week really hasn't done anything particularly exciting. Everything seems to be kind of staying in the same range with no big moves up or down. So far September has been kind of a meh month, hopefully October will treat us better. Here's the BTC chart over the last 24 hours:

Over the last several hours just look at that volume circled in yellow, that could be a sign of a nice push upward. Then again, we are dealing with crypto, so the opposite is always possible. I'm routing for up personally! But I'm not holding my breath.
Now onto Hive and my goals on the platform for this year. I joined the Saturday Savers community about a year ago in hopes it would help me reach my goals faster. It really has made a difference as I take time each week and examine exactly where I am and what I need to improve. I've already completed five goals on the year and today is the day to up the ante!
Completed Goals so far in 2025
Hive Power
My primary goal of the year was to reach 10,000 HP which I already surpassed and currently have 10,978 HP. That up 108 HP on the week and ever so close to 11K! I'm going to try and make it to 13,000 HP by the end of the year now. There are still three months left and I think I can do it!

PIMP
My secondary goal of the year was to reach 50,000 PIMP, which I did some time ago. I'm continuing to pile them up and will have a new goal of this one next year!
PIMP: 60,507 (121% complete)
Goal: 50,000
This is the only token on Hive that is backed by physical silver bars and BTC, so it will always have value.
LEO
I initially completed this goal early on to reach 5K LEO. Then I was forced to cash out for some quickly needed cash for medical expenses and I'm back to square one. I am delegating to @leo.voter to earn tokens daily, but I am reformulating a strategy here. I'm hopeful that long term the LEO Dex will perform well and gain traction, it would be a huge benefit to Hive!
PIZZA
I've already formulated some new goals on this one. I'm going to try to get my stake above 10K PIZZA, so over the next few months I will be buying chunks up when I find a good price. I really like the APR on this token!

DUO
Coming up on a year ago now, I started a token project with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman called DUO token. If you stake 200 DUO you receive daily Hive dividends and a curation on your quality posts once a day. For those who stake 500 or more you are able to tip someone else's post with some DUO, in return you receive the same amount of the tip in your account as well. The more DUO you stake, the higher your daily dividends.

Precious Metals
Investing in precious metals isn't just for the rich, everyone can do it and should in my opinion. Why do the wealthy invest in gold and silver? Because they are a stable form of wealth that will always have value. I personally have invested in them since I was young thanks to my father's advice!
Silver
Silver has been used as currency for thousands of years and will for thousands more. Currently it is increasing in value quickly as governments and companies hoard it as a storage of wealth. Currently silver is over $43 per Troy ounce and will likely be moving towards $50 by New Years. It is the most affordable of the precious metals to invest in by far.

Gold
Gold has been valued around the world since the beginning of recorded human history. It seems to be on a trajectory towards $4,000 per Troy ounce by year's end. Not too bad, especially since I remember buying an ounce of gold in the early 2000's for $700! It's not just for the rich, small fractional gold is available pretty much everywhere and a smart investment. Just look at gold over the last year:

I always like to feature a good deal on gold or silver that I find online every week. This week it's some one gram gold bars from the Sunshine Mint.

What's nice about these is they are small. With current gold prices buying a gram of gold is much more practical that a full Troy ounce. These are on sale at APMEX.com starting at $138.94 as of the time of writing. I do have a lot of one gram bars of gold, because if a disaster were to occur and you couldn't get cash, these are real cash and people will gladly trade for them.
Precious metals are a great way to build your personal wealth and easily pass it on to your children.

I remember when I was young they taught how government works, and now I see that was how it's supposed to work. Instead we have Washington D.C. filled wit corrupt politicians and I would put the level of corruption in the US on par with, or worse than, banana republics. It's really sad to see, and I don't see an end to the spending problems and money waste. I would say she has a good reason to be worried, I agree one hundred percent!

It's fantastic that you've increased your HP target; it shows you're doing well. I hope you can rebuild your LEO stack. I use LEO pools to grow; it's a good option.
I'm working on the LEO stack, but the money helped pay for expensive medical tests that were badly needed. I'm still working on a plan! How have you been doing?
I remember the days you speak of very well. We had 3 channels, maybe 4 on a good day if you tweaked the antenna just right. Wasn't it funny how you hated getting up for school, but your butt could get up no problem to start watching cartoons first thing Satruday mornings?
Now that I am retired, weekends have kind of lost their allure. In fact, sometimes they seem an inconvience due to places being closed, or my favorite daily TV shows not being on. However, yesterday I did use Saturday as a good rest day, but plan to get some things done today and then watch some football.
Remember the old circle UHF antennae that you connected straight to the TV? The good old days...
I always hated getting up to go to school, which is ironic since I spent so many years after high school in school... But Saturday morning I was always up for those cartoons! Weekends have kind of lost their special feel that they used to have, even when I had my son around it was still fun. Now it's just another day unless I want to go somewhere without as much traffic.
I've cut back on my TV to only streaming now, so there are less shows to watch on a certain day. It's not like back in the 90's with Seinfeld on Thursdays followed by Friends. I don't miss the commercials though!
How's Lily doing so far? Those young dogs have so much energy! lol
Oh, I do remember those. I also remember rigging different stuff up to try like wire clothes hangers.
I never could get into the modern cartoons my kids watched. Then again, I was either working or gone alot for my oldests younger years so missed a lot of Saturdays.
I mostly stick to History, Disocvery and stuff like that on TV these days.
LIlly is full of energy. She is either raising a rukus or sleeping.
Sounds like a great hobby you have planned. It seems silly that you need a license for ham radio, but everything the FCC does is kind of stupid...
I remember using coat hangers too, back when you had to work to get decent reception to watch your shows! Enjoy Lilly, she'll be keeping you busy, but the change will be a good thing for you buddy!

Weekends are great and always have been. Although I have always tried to live life where you treat everyday as a weekend.
