Marvel Silver Superhero Trading Coins, Disney Greed at it's Finest!

Growing up I was never much of a superhero or comic book fan. Some of that probably had to do with only having older sisters and a dad who wasn't interested in them either. I do remember seeing the Superman movies starring Christopher Reeve as Superman and Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor when I was young back in the 1980's . Sadly, both actors have since passed away. Then Tim Burton created his iconic Batman movie starring Michael Keaton in 1989 and superheroes became kind of cool.

Jumping over the 90's and into the 2000's, my son was born and he became a big superhero fan. I took him to see all of the Marvel and DC movies and I started to appreciate the genre myself. Then, as always happens, the parent companies go hog wild signing any kind of marketing deal that makes them more money. After all, the CEO needs his private jet and $50 million a year bonus.

That brings me to today's post. I found this a couple days back and it was just so interesting and kind of bizarre that I had to create a post about it. Marvel (a.k.a. Disney) signed a deal with the island nation of Niue to create "coin" trading cards. Kind of like baseball or Star Wars cards, but made with one Troy ounce of silver each or one quarter Troy ounce of gold. And just like card packs it's a mystery what you will find inside. It could be a gold coin or one of many silver coins, and they all have different levels of rarity.

Welcome to Marvel Studios The Infinity Saga Trading Coins 2025!

Each of these boxes comes with two silver coins/cards or one silver and one gold. This fits perfectly for the degenerate gamblers who have enough money to bet on a box of these. These run about $460 a box, so definitely not for the faint of heart gambler. Now, this is where it gets more interesting. Cards come in different categories and mintages in each category. We'll start with emerald with a mintage of 250 of each of these coins/cards.

Now moving onto topaz mintage of only 150 of each coin/card:

Then there is ruby of only 50 coins/cards each:

Then there is sapphire mintage level of only 30 of each card/coin:

Then amethyst with only 20 of each card/coin and apparently gold plated:

And then for the very lucky ten people who find it, the one quarter once gold coin/card and the onyx level. It looks like the gauntlet that Thanos used to eliminate half of all life in the universe:

To be completely honest, I find this just so bizarre that it's kind of a cool scheme. But, it is only for those degenerate gamblers who have $460 to spend on a box. If you want to collect them all, wow, that could get really expensive! When I first saw these on APMEX they had them for sale, and two day's later they were sold out. There are some other dealers that have them in stock, but I have a feeling this will be one that sells out fast and will become very expensive. Especially for a complete set.

Will I be gambling on this one? No. If I had $20K in the bank and no other use for it I might think about it because it will be a money maker down the line. But there is no way I would pay $460 for one of these right now as I am not a rich man at the moment...

Would any of you buy a box or two of these?

That will do it for today, I hope you found these and bizarre and fascinating as I did. Please feel free to leave any comments or questions below, and as always thank you so much for your support. It truly means a lot to me! Have a great Wednesday everyone!

I wasn't really into comics and stuff like that when I was younger either. I like the Marvel stuff now and I was a fan of the DC Universe shows on CW for a while before most of them got tedious and repetitive. Now I don't quite follow it all as much.

DC has kind of flushed itself down the toilet, maybe under new leadership it will improve. If I were a little more wealthy gambling on one of this mystery boxes might be fun, but at $460 it's too rich for my blood!

No kidding, there are other things I could do a lot with $460 towards.

Such things are not allowed in Belgium, as it's a form of loot box, kind of lotteries.

I don't have enough spare cash to gamble anyways.

This is a gamble pure and simple. You might get a gold coin or two silver ones from the highest mintage. I won't be buying, but someone is because they seem to be selling fast!

Since they're selling out fast, I think a degenerate buying the Topaz mintage might just make back their money should they decide to list it later. However as you've said it's all a gamble. The Topaz looks astonishing though, I get why it seems to be more expensive.

I don't really see super heroes stuffs, as a genre, but I grew up watching the 2000s version of Superman and Spiderman, not for fun, but because it was available to watch

The only problem is you might get two emerald level ones and end up losing money on the purchase. Then again you might get a gold coin. It truly is gambling, because you don't know what you'll get. And at $460 it's not something I would take a chance on in my current economic situation!

1/10 gold or two 1 oz .999 silver in the box. I'm sure they have buyers.
Not me, even if I had the money. I don't gamble, @thebighigg.

I have a feeling this one will go quickly. If I had the money I would gamble on this one, but I don't have that kind of cash these days! lol

I’ve been a superhero fan since a litttle boy. My older brother had comic books that he would let me read occasionally too. I was all into marvel and dc as a kid. Not sure I’d buy into something like this though.

If I had cash to burn I might consider it, but just too rich for my blood. It's selling out quickly so there must be some people wiling to take the gamble and have that cash to burn!

Too rich for my blood even as a member of the Instagram Stacker community #silverdegenerates that is a very different kind of degenerate who have way too much cash to burn.

I think a little gambling is good fun, but as I'm a fan of old gold and silver, visually it's not something for me 😉

Damn, what an envy. I'm a Marvel fan, but my pocketbook has no funds. 💀
I guess the super rich collectors are in for a treat.
