My last days as a dolphin... + My First Impression on Illuvium Overworld Open Beta
I have been on Hive since March 5, 2019, and to date I have never done a power down because Hive is my favorite blockchain project and because I have always set growth goals with a special focus on Hive Power.
My annual goal on Hive is to reach 75K HP (Hive Power) but it will not be easy to reach this goal by the end of the year.
On the other hand, I am very close to reaching a goal related to statuses on Hive.
In fact on Hive at certain amounts of Hive Power corresponds a status.
At this moment my Hive Power = 57730 HP and my current status is Dolphin status.
Today while looking at the ranking on https://hivebuzz.me/ranking I noticed that I am very close to Orca status because the first Orca in the ranking is @boatymcboatface who has 58162 HP.
So I am only 432 HP away from acquiring Orca status which is a goal that until a few years ago seemed an almost unattainable goal while today it is a goal within my reach.
The next few days will be the last days as a dolphin for me and I am also glad to have noted that my friend @claudio83 is also very close to Orca status.
Thanks to Hive I discovered the world of blockchains, a world that I liked right away because I love freedom and I love the principle of decentralization.
Thanks to Hive I also discovered blockchain-based games and until today my main focus has always been on Hive games and will continue to be so.
A little less than a month ago I finally sent my old (dinosaur) Desktop Pc on vacation to build a new Pc that is faster and also quieter.
My new Desktop Pc has this configuration:
CPU: Intel i5-14500
RAM: 32 GB DDR5 6000Mhz
VIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 OC 8GB
HD: 2TB M.2 SSD 7000MB/s
PSU: Be Quiet! Pure Power 12 M 850W 80 Plus Gold

I shared all the steps of building my new desktop pc on Hive starting from component selection to final assembly.

Thanks to my new Desktop Pc and also thanks to my new multi-monitor setup I can do everything I was able to do before much faster and today I decided to start expanding the list of blockchain games I have played and currently play.
Today I decided to expand my knowledge of blockchain-based games and started exploring new gaming platforms.
Until now I have only played Hive-based games and Wax-based games.
Today I tried for the first time the Open Beta version of a game built on Ethereum: Illuvium Overworld.

Illivium Overworld is a Pokemon-style RPG game.
The Open Beta version is free-to play but the game will have play-to earn dynamics in the future linked to ILV (ERC-20) and sILV tokens and the game's NFTs.
I have not yet delved into and read the whitepaper because my goal today was just to try the game in its Open Beta version.
To try Illivium Overworld I had to first create:
- an ImmutableX Passport (not custodial wallet)
- an Illivium account
- an Epic Games account
I had my daughter choose the character and its characteristics.
On Illuvium Overworld, the player must explore an open-world to capture illivials, which are pokemon-style creatures.
The first step is to run behind the illivial and hit it several times to lock it in a sphere of light.
The second step is to defeat the illivial in an arena battle and then capture it.
In the following image you can see an Illivial I captured today.
Today I completed the first phase of the game, the tutorial, and in the coming days I will continue to play because my first impression was very positive and I enjoyed playing the game.
Today my goal was just to try this game and when I have gained more experience playing and more knowledge about the project of this game I will write a post with more details, information and considerations.
Important Note
Blockchain-based games that allow people to buy and sell game assets (tokens and NFTs) are not just games but are also investments and should be treated as such!

Sono su Hive dal 5 marzo 2019 e fino ad oggi non ho mai fatto un power down perchè Hive è il mio progetto blockchain preferito e perchè ho sempre fissato obiettivi di crescita con un focus particolare sull'Hive Power.

Grazie al mio nuovo Desktop Pc e grazie anche al mio nuovo multi-monitor setup riesco a fare tutto quello che facevo prima molto più velocemente e oggi ho deciso di iniziare ad espandere la lista dei giochi blockchain a cui ho giocato e a cui gioco attualmente.
Oggi ho deciso di espandere la mia conoscenza dei giochi basati su blockchain e ho iniziato ad esplorare nuove piattaforme di gioco.
Fino ad oggi ho giocato solo ai giochi Hive-based e ai giochi Wax-based.

Oggi ho completato la prima fase del gioco, il tutorial, e nei prossimi giorni continuerò a giocare perchè la mia prima impressione è stata molto positiva e mi sono divertito a giocare.
Oggi il mio obiettivo era solo quello di provare questo gioco e quando avrò maturato una maggiore esperienza di gioco e una maggiore conoscenza del progetto di questo gioco scriverò un post con più dettagli, informazioni e considerazioni.

Congrats on becoming Orca soon. Illuvium looks very interesting despite being on ETH which is a chain i hate for gaming due to high costs, complexity and slow transactions. I am looking forward to tracking your progress.
I have never been interested in ETH games for the same reason you pointed out.
To me Hive is a much better blockchain for games than ETH but I have seen that with ImmutableX even some ETH games have solved many problems related to token transactions and NFTs
I managed to bridge off some tokens from immutablex for just a few$, but it is still too much and complicated for newbies. I admit though, the games development on ImmutableX is really good so far.

Riguardo a Iluvium ho sempre pensato che fosse molto costoso iniziare a giocarci... che tu sappia invece Liberty ci sarà anche una modalità free2play? Perchè un paio di anni fa quando vidi le presale dei primi assets lasciai perdere e dopo ho perso completamente di vista il gioco (complice anche qui uno sviluppo non proprio velocissimo, problema che però mi sembra affliggere il 95% dei giochi play2earn...), quindi a parte il nome e qualche cosa qui e là non so nient'altro su questo progetto!

Il gioco è attualmente free-to play o meglio è in versione play-to-airdrop perchè in base all'attività di gioco nella fase open beta saranno assegnati dei punti che saranno validi per un futuro airdrop dei token del gioco.
Non conosco ancora bene le dinamiche e la tokenomics di questo gioco ma devo dire che è il primo gioco fino ad ora in cui sono rimasto sorpreso dalla giocabilità e dalla grafica rispetto a tantissimi altri giochi blockchain.
C'è ancora molta distanza rispetto ai più famosi giochi web 2.0 ma Illuvium è sicuramente un gioco interessante e molto sopra altri giochi web 3
Dopo questo tuo commento andrò sicuramente a dargli nuovamente un'occhiata: all'epoca vendevano solo assets, per cui sono curioso di vedere il gioco in azione ed informarmi un po' su questo airdrop :)

It doesn't take days to update account status on HiveBuzz. This process is performed every few hours.
However, what often happens is that users do not see the change because of their browser's cache. A simple refresh (CTRL-F5) usually fixes the problem.
