Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Ferrous Brewer (Eng/Ita)

Hello everyone, friends of Splinterlands !!!

Neutral monsters are among my favorites, because they do not belong to any specific element and can be used in almost any battle, except in those with the Taking Sides ruleset, but a few years ago another ruleset was introduced, Shades of Grey, which forces you to choose only neutral monsters, one more reason to strengthen your deck with these very useful and versatile neutral cards.

The new edition Conclave Arcana has brought us some very interesting neutral cards, without a doubt, at the top of the list and one of my favorites is Gramel The Hunger, the very first monster ever to have a triple attack, meaning melee, ranged and magic together, combined with the Charge ability that allows melee attacks from any position.

But the other neutral monsters are also innovative and come with strong stats and ability setups, for example Arcane Skinwalker, one of the very first cards to have the Shapeshift ability, which makes this monster be treated as if it belonged to any Bloodline.

But today, in this week’s Splinterlands Social Media Challenge, I want to take a look with you at another CA neutral monster that players often use on the battlefield.

Ferrous Brewer, epic, neutral, Dwarf bloodline card, at level one it offers, for the cost of 4 mana, 1 Armor, Speed and Melee, and 4 Health, along with the Charge ability I mentioned earlier.

At level 2 it already jumps to a solid 2 Melee attack, and at level 3 it gains the new ability Relentless Strike, which ensures this monster’s attack deals True Damage, meaning it hits directly the opponent’s Health points, and in addition, if the targeted monster holds the abilities Void, Shield and Forcefield.

In the latest upgrades, it also gains True Strike and Immunity, with a 3 Melee attack and 5 Health.

Today’s market price for this card is around $0.83 per BCX, not an exorbitant price, but one that starts to weigh if we need to buy dozens and dozens of copies to max it out.

Finally a high Mana Cap battle, with the Broken Arrows and Tis but Scratches rulesets, so I relied on the usual Lorkus, and placed Chaos Golem in the Tank position, followed by Pallus, Emberguard, Infernal Firestorm, Ferrous Brewer, and finally Baron Fyatt.

My opponent, instead, relied on the new CA archon called Kaylia Silverleaf, deploying Endless Ape in the first position, followed by Zebajin, Lord Thanalor, Time Bandit, Conclave Tracker, and Ujurak Elder.

This was a very tough battle, around round 3 I thought I might lose, but from round 4 things turned in my favor, as the enemy monsters began to fall one by one, mainly because they were weaker defensively, while one of my monsters like Infernal Firestorm, taking advantage of the Life Leech ability granted by Lorkus, reached in the last round an almost impenetrable defensive wall, with 5 Armor and 12 Health.

Ferrous Brewer held strong until the very end, also dealing many lethal blows to enemy cards, using its Charge ability, well protected in the second-to-last position, it is not a card to use in high Mana Cap battles, as it may struggle against the Heavyweights, but in medium-low Mana Cap matches, or with rulesets like Little League and Up Close and Personal, it becomes an excellent choice, its quality to price ratio makes it one of the best performing neutral cards of the Conclave Arcana edition.

Ciao a tutti amici di Splinterlands !!!

I mostri neutrali sono tra i miei preferiti, perchè non appartengono ad alcun elemento in particolare e possono essere usati quasi in qualsiasi sfida, a parte in quelle con il ruleset Taking Sides, ma qualche anno fa è stato introdotto anche i, ruleset Shades of Grey, che ti costringe a scegliere esclusivamente mostri neutrali, un motivo in più per potenziare il proprio mazzo di queste utilissime e versatili carte neutrali.

La nuova edizione Conclave Arcana ci ha portato delle carte neutrali molto interessanti: senza dubbio, prima in classifica, una delle mie preferite, c'è la carta Gramel The Hunger, primo mostro in assoluto ad avere un attacco triplo, ovvero melee, ranged e magic insieme, unita all'abilità Charge che da la possibilità di usare l'attacco melee da qualsiasi posizione.

Ma anche gli altri mostri neutrali sono innovativi e con configurazioni di stats e abilità performanti, per esempio Arcane Skinwalker, una delle primissime carte ad avere l'abilità Shapeshift, che fa in modo che questo mostro viene trattato come se fosse di qualsiasi Bloodline.

Ma oggi , nel Splinterlands Social Media Challenge di questa settimana, voglio vedere con voi un altro mostro neutrale CA che viene usato molto spesso dai giocatori sul campo di battaglia.

Ferrous Brewer,: carta epica, neutrale, della bloodline Dwarf, al primo livello offre, per il costo di 4 mana, 1 di Armor, Speed e Melee, e 4 di Health, insieme all'abilità Charge, di cui ho parlato prima.

Già al livello 2 passa ad un buon attacco di 2 di Melee, e al terzo livello ottiene la nuova abilità Relentless Strike, che garantisce che l'attacco di questo mostro infligga True Damage, ovvero vada a colpire direttamente i punti Health avversari, e inoltre, se il mostro colpito detiene le abilità Void, Shield e Forcefield.

Negli ultimi potenziamenti, arriva ad ottenere anche le abilità True Strike e Immunity, con un attacco melee di 3 punti e Health di 5.

La quotazione sul mercato di oggi, di questa carta, si avvicina a 0,83 $ per BCX, prezzo non esorbitante, che però inizia a farsi sentire se dobbiamo comprare decine e decine di esemplari per poterlo portare agli ultimi livelli di potenziamento.

Finalmente una sfida ad alto Mana Cap, con i rulesets Broken Arrows e Tis but Scratches, per cui mi sono affidato al solito Lorkus, ed ho messo Chaos Golem in posizione Tank, seguito da Pallus, Emberguard, Infernal Firestorm, Ferrous Brewer, e per finire, Baron Fyatt.

Il mio avversario, invece, si è affidato al nuovo archon CA di nome Kaylia Silverleaf, schierando Endless Ape in prima posizione, seguito da Zebajin, Lord Thanalor, Time Bandit, Conclave Tracker, e Ujurak Elder.

Questa è stata una sfida molto combattuta, che verso il round 3 pensavo di poter perdere, ma che dal round 4 si è risolta positivamente per me, perchè i mostri avversari hanno cominciato a cadere uno ad uno, principalmente per il fatto che erano più deboli nel comparto difensivo, mentre un mio mostro come Infernal Firestorm, sfruttando l'abilità Life Leech donata da Lorkus, ha raggiunto nell'ultimo round una corrazza difensiva quasi impenetrabile , formata da 5 di Armor e 12 di Health.

Ferrous Brewer ha restito alla grande fino all'ultimo , tirando anche molte stoccate letali alle carte avversarie, sfruttando la sua abilità Charge, ben protetto in penultima posizione: non è una carta da usare nelle sfide ad alto Mana Cap, può avere difficoltà a tenere botta contro gli Heavyweights , però nelle sfide a medio-basso Mana Cap, o con rulesets come Little League e Up Close and Personal, diventa una scelta eccezionale, il suo rapporto qualità/prezzo la rende una delle carte neutrali più performanti dell'edizione Conclave Arcana.
