Don't wait
I have two cousins living in a foreign country. The first one gave birth at the age of 22, and the second one gave birth at 24. One thing I've noticed about both is that before they turned 30, they had already moved into their dream homes. In contrast, at that age, I didn't even know what I wanted to do with my life back in Nigeria. This uncertainty wasn't for lack of effort, rather, it stemmed from the challenges I faced, which may not apply to everyone else my age in the country. However, I would say that about 90% of people between the ages of 22 and 24 were struggling with the same issues.
I said 90% because it is a common problem in the country. It is most likely that you are going to waste your 20s in Nigeria because after graduating from university it is always very difficult for a young graduate to move to the next step in life. At a point when I was 24 years old, I was depressed because I was constantly thinking about what I could do with my life. I was trying different things and went to the extent that I was scammed just because I was looking for ways I could move forward. There is a video trending online that explained this and let me understand that the problem was not me or most Nigerian youth, The problem is the country.
Don't waste your twenties.
The generation that destroyed the country pushed for independence when they were around 22-32 years of age. Most people who are in power are being recycled. If you should check the age bracket they got into power, they were young but it is almost impossible for a young man or guy to go into power, and not only that, things were easy back then. I’ve had a lot of stories about how fresh graduates would be offered a job immediately after school. All those benefits were nowhere to be found now. This is because everything has been mismanaged not only that there aren’t job opportunities in the country the economy is becoming worse every day.
One reason why fresh graduates struggle in the country is that most jobs are already occupied. The jobs available often don't provide a stable foundation for building a future, such as getting married. Instead, many of these positions only cover basic needs for a limited time. This is a major reason why people experience challenges in their 20s, and the situation seems to be getting harder year after year. Even if you are doing well for yourself in your 20s, there's often pressure to wait until your late 20s to get married. Meanwhile, young people in foreign countries often achieve three to four times more than graduates in Nigeria during the same period.
What to do
I read a book last year that says if your country is not working well for you leave and go to another country. I think the only solution not to waste your 20s in Nigeria is to leave the country unless you are part of the few people who get access to a good job or your parents are rich because that’s the easiest way to be financially free apart from that You are most likely going to waste your 20s in Nigeria if you get married, you’re also most likely to struggle. It is now becoming a pattern in the country, The most annoying part about this is that the citizens keep recycling corrupt, and bad people into power.

Interesting insights, never thought of it this way before. Feeling lost in one's 20s can be multiplied a ten fold depending on the environment. I've known a few friends who are clear about what they want to achieve in their 20s, but this clarity came when they travelled to a foreign country :)
I swear bro, when you enter the right environment and system everything will change. Nigeria is not for the weak
I think Nigeria got independent too early. Look at the economy of south Africa, it was the white that mostly built it. Over here, we cannot get good leadership unless we leave tribalism and religion and vote for the right people.
