Zarin the Scorch Joins My Army
In the transition from the Rebellion set to the Conclave Arcana set, I have now chosen to focus on Legendary rarity cards, so that I can add cards to my collection that are generally in demand on the rental market.
The first of these cards that I managed to get my hands on is Zarin the Scorch, for which I had created a buy order on Peakmonsters.
A few days ago my offer was accepted and this card became part of my collection, helping me continue my transition into the new set.
Zarin was also immediately rented out, starting to generate a small income in DEC that helps me recover its cost and purchase new cards.
At almost 4 DEC per day, the ROI I am getting is very high, in line with what I aim for when buying a card to rent out.
A good purchase?
So far I would be very happy with the performance of this card, but there is a “but”.
To purchase Zarin the Scorch I spent 3 dollars, equal to a little over 5,125 DEC.
Even though only a few days have passed since my purchase, the price of this card — and of all other cards as well — has dropped: at the moment Zarin the Scorch can be bought for about 2.50 dollars, resulting in a net loss for me of 50 cents.
At this point, that income of 4 DEC per day looks much less attractive, because right now it is effectively only — and very slowly — offsetting the loss I generated by buying this card... of course the situation would change if the price of this card were to rise again, but these days hoping that the price of anything will go up feels more and more like a utopia!
A short pause
For this reason, I decided to cancel the buy order I had created for Loving the Moo and carefully evaluate whether it would be better to buy it now or later: I would like to avoid buying another card only to discover, a few days later, that I paid 1/5 more than necessary.
On the other hand, by doing so I also risk missing what might actually be a good opportunity... unfortunately I do not know the dynamics of the Splinterlands card market well enough to understand whether buying now is the right move or if it would perhaps be better to wait.
My idea is to wait a few days, maybe a week, see what happens and what changes, and only then decide whether or not to purchase this Legendary Archon, which would certainly be a great addition to my collection.

Zarin the Scorch Entra Nella Mia Armata
Nel passaggio dal set Rebellion al set Conclave Arcana ho scelto adesso di concentrarmi su carte di rarità leggendaria, così da aggiungere alla mia collezione carte che, generalmente, sono richieste sul mercato dei noleggi.
La prima di queste carte su cui sono riuscito a mettere le mani è Zarin the Scorch, per il quale avevo creato un'offerta di acquisto su Peakmonsters.
Alcuni giorni fa la mia offerta è stata accettata e questa carta è entrata a far parte della mia collezione, contribuendo a portare avanti la mia attività di transizione nel nuovo set.
Zarin è inoltre stato subito a preso noleggio, iniziando a generare una piccola rendita in DEC che mi aiuta a ripagarne il costo ed acquistare nuove carte.
Per quasi 4 DEC al giorno il ROI che ottengo è molto alto, in linea con quelli che sono i miei obiettivi quando acquisto una carta per poi noleggiarla.
Un buon acquisto?
Fin qui sarei molto contento delle prestazioni di questa carta, ma c'è un "ma".
Per acquistare Zarin the Scorch ho infatti sborsato 3 dollari, pari a poco più di 5.125 DEC.
Nonostante dal mio acquisto siano passati solo pochi giorni, il prezzo di questa carta - ed anche di tutte le altre carte - è calato: in questo momento Zarin the Scorch si acquista per circa 2.50 dollari, con una perdita netta per me di 50 centesimi.
Ecco che allora quella rendita di 4 DEC al giorno appare molto meno allettante, perchè al momento di fatto sta solamente - e molto lentamente - ripianando la perdita che ho generato acquistando questa carta... ovviamente la situazione cambierebbe ove il prezzo di questa carta risalisse, ma in questo periodo sperare che il prezzo di qualcosa risalga sembra sempre più un'utopia!
Una piccola pausa
Per questo ho deciso di annullare l'offerta di acquisto che avevo creato per Loving the Moo e valutare attentamente se mi convenga acquistarlo adesso o fra un po': vorrei evitare di comprare un'altra carta per poi scoprire, dopo poco giorni, di averla pagata 1/5 più del necessario.
Vero è anche che così facendo rischio di perdere quella che magari è invece una buona occasione... purtroppo non conosco abbastanza l'andamento del mercato delle carte di Splinterlands per capire se acquistare adesso sia corretto o se forse sarebbe meglio aspettare.
La mia idea è di aspettare qualche giorno, magari una settimana, vedere cosa succede e cosa cambia e, solo a quel punto, valutare se acquistare o meno questo Arconte leggendario, che sarebbe sicuramente una gran bella aggiunta alla mia collezione.

5,125 dec / dec al di = 1281.25 giorni per andare in pari ovvero quasi 43 mesi, 3 anni e mezzo
La cosa infatti funziona se conserva più o meno il suo valore, così da poterlo poi rivendere ed ottenere prezzo di acquisto + 30/50% di ROI (se lo noleggio per un anno/un anno e mezzo circa). Se si deprezza come sta facendo invece è un pessimo affare 😂
