Monomad: The Last of Us
I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The HBO series based on the game The Last of Us filmed season 1 here a few years ago. This area called the Warehouse District was a major spot for production. It doubled for a few different cities in the show, often with CG elements mixed in with the red bricks of these buildings.
The alleyways were certainly recognizable, and I recall many scenes that took place here. So It was a great place to take a test run of my new Nikon Z8 camera, the first mirrorless that I have owned. My last upgrade was 8 years ago when I went into full frame with a D750, and after some very heavy use, it was nice to step up into some newer tech.
I was able to use my current lenses with the F-mount adapter and it worked like a charm. These were all shot with the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 and I would say it was a great pairing. I did have monochrome in my mind with these shots, as I know the bricks and lines would suit it quite well.
Imagine the pleasure of playing, watching the series and being where they recorded the series. Amazing photos, loved the place.

Thanks. Yes, it was a neat experience. I almost felt a scene or two flash before my eye when I walked up the alleyway.
