Monomad: Downtown Calgary Clouds and Skyscrapers

The combination of a nice wide-angle lens, some tall buildings, and white clouds is a great mix for monochrome photography. Add in some reflections off of many glass windows, and there is a certain dramatic flair that becomes apparent in photos like these. I think there are many ways to experiment with angles and objects in the frame so that everything you see can be used to help enhance the look of a photo. If you live someplace with tall buildings like this, it's a great way to get out and try different types of framing to see what you can capture. Even if you shoot in color and turn to black and white, there are always going to be an abundance of opportunities to capture something neat.
