Finding Emotion in Monochrome Landscapes |This my entry for the Monomad contest
For this entry into the #Monomad community contest, I challenged myself to take a new look at my landscape photos—ones that originally relied heavily on color to create their impact. Stripping them of their hues, I wanted to see if they could still hold the same depth of feeling in monochrome. Not necessarily the same feeling, but at least the same intensity.
The first image pulls you into a quiet, almost eerie evening. The silhouette of the trees against the fading light feels timeless. Without the distractions of color, the scene becomes about shapes, shadows, and the weight of silence. This photo is a whisper rather than a shout.
In the second, the drama of the sky takes center stage. The sweeping clouds and soft fog rolling over the fields feel vast and endless, yet grounded in simplicity. It’s amazing how monochrome intensifies texture and lets the sky tell its story without competing with bold colors. For me, this one was the most difficult to work with
The third image is a lonely road, leading who knows where. In black and white, it’s not just a road, it becomes a metaphor. For what? That’s up to the viewer. Adventure, solitude, or maybe just a long walk to clear your head.
The fourth picture is all about atmosphere. The fog enveloping the path makes the scene feel surreal, as though you’re about to wander into a dream—or maybe a mystery novel.

Well, I started my photographic adventures in Monochrome, and with developing those in the old darkroom with my parents, as you know. Which is kind of the reason why I love extreme colors that much now I guess :-D lol

Well, the three faucet sites that I'm using, two for BTC, and one for LTC, are a fairly new part of my daily routine, so I haven't tried to transfer anything to Hive yet. I'm waiting until the amounts would make a notable difference here. I am hoping to do such a transfer at some point in 2025, however.
That works too, I suppose. I prefer my two-pass approach, once via Ecency, and then again via Engage. I seem to catch most things that way. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

You should also consider the transaction fees (especially for BTC) before you convert your crypto earnings from faucets to Hive. 🤔 Maybe convert them first in the platform to a coin/token which will have the lowest total transaction fees before you get them as HIVE. 🤓
If someone manages to get the source code of #HiveEngage and starts running it, they can find the variable responsible for limiting the age of comments (and posts) to be shown on the feed to 7 days (or basically all content whose potential rewards haven't been paid out yet). 😏

It looks like LTC is one of the most common payment methods, because of its popularity, age, and low transaction fees. 🤔🤓
I think that the 7-day limit is reasonable for #HiveEngage, because it will take its servers a big toll when looking at every single reply made by a user from the time he/she joined Hive, which may mean more than 10,000 comments looked at every single page load. 🤯🤯😅

LTC or BCH are the two most efficient coins to send cross-chain, as they both have very low transaction fees, and they're quite fast.

People who like Bitcoin Cash say that BCH is designed as a payment method ("like cash") because of its much larger block size which drives its transaction fees low, unlike Bitcoin (Core) which they say is designed as a store of value ("like investment"). 🤓

I think that such HIVE faucet bot is more of a "for fun project" much like most token tipping projects, since many people on Hive with a significant amount of Hive Power (may vary a lot, but let's say 1,000 owned HP) may not be interested in claiming from (or sending HIVE to) such faucet. 🤔🤯
Anyway, it would be a good idea if such faucet gets sponsored by someone (and increasing the amount of HIVE claimed), where it will say on a comment or memo the name of the sponsor and a short message from the sponsor (especially a link to a tribe or dapp on Hive). 🤓 Maybe integrate it into your MMB project with @tydynrain! 😎😏
