Monomad: Single Paper Wasp

Paper wasps are social insects; most of them live in small colonies. However, some live alone by building a small nest to lay their eggs. I spotted a paper wasp in her nest a few days ago. She was alone in her small nest. The nest consists of seven hexagonal chambers hanging behind a leaf and shady enough to protect from the heat and rain. I noticed that there were no eggs in the hexagonal chambers yet; it seems she had just finished building the nest.
