🍐Picking Chayote squash and sharing it with those who need it 🍐

Hello my loving Asean Hive community,

Warm greetings. Welcome back to my new blog. How is it going, guys? Is everything OK? I hope everything will be fine. Yesterday I shared how to make a cakey bow. Today I will tell you about picking some fruits from my small garden.

Years ago, because I had a lot of free time, I helped my father whenever he planted new plants. This year I can't help my father because I spend all my time at the clinic. However, today I helped my father and picked some vegetables from the garden. The name of the fruit that I picked with my father today is 'Chayote squash'

My father used to plant chayote and gourd in the small garden of our house every end of the summer. My father harvested the gourd early. It will be autumn soon where in my town. So the weather is nice these days and it doesn't rain anymore. So my father and I watered the plants in the small garden every evening. My father told me that the gourds could be picked regularly once a week because he watered them regularly in the days.

Chayote squashes are a type of vine, so this plant takes up space not only around the yard, but everywhere. In the yard, my father also planted large trees such as avocado trees. So the Chayote squash plants still take their place on top of those avocado plants.

Chayote squash around the yard is easy to pick, but Chayote squash on that avocado tree is a bit more difficult to pick. Because the plant is too tall. To pick the chayote squashes on the avocado tree, my father used a long stick as shown in the picture.

The Chayote squash around the yard are very easy to pick. Having those Chayote squash around the yard looks like even hanging light-buds.

What types of chayote squash have you seen? In my yard, even though I planted 3 types, there are still 2 of each. I have shown the 2 types in the picture above. 1 is that the surface is smooth, and the other is that the surface is bumpy. My father said chayote squash with bumps on the surface are sweeter.

Even though my dad and I picked a lot of chayote squash today, there were still some flowers and small fruits. I think I can pick those up in the next 2 weeks.

Today, my father and I picked about 50 chayote squash. My father told me that he has already picked 400 in total this year. In the state where I live, the war is raging, and transportation is down. That's why the prices have become extremely expensive. Even though we were able to bear the damage, it was very difficult for some local residents. For them, it is difficult to even buy food because the prices have risen so much. So our family shares the vegetables we get from our farm with those who need them, and then we sell the extra at the market at a cheap price.

The chayote squash is very green and has grown beautifully and I am so glad to hear that you are trying to help those who need it. In fact, as human beings, we all should fulfill this responsibility. Thank you very much for sharing.
