Almost 30 Years of Friendship and Hopefully Until Later

Hello, Asean mates.

I grew up in a family that loved to socialise. My mum and dad are two people who both have a lot of friends. I know because both of them often met acquaintances while travelling almost everywhere. I used to wonder why my mum and dad seemed to be friends with the whole world? It turns out that when I grew up, the person who was like my mum and dad was me.

I remember why I easily made friends with almost everyone, yes because of the habits that my parents applied to me, they let my friends play at their house, or I went to their house, or we (me and my friends) played together after school. Usually we explored the rice fields or bamboo groves around our house. I don't know why we like playing in nature so much, maybe it's instinctive?

Well, because there is an interesting prommpt in Asean HIve Community. Talking about friends that I hope will stay in my life in the future? Honestly, I have a lot of close friends, for example friends that I travel with when I go home, like Umi and Tuti, friends in the Hive like Anggrek, friends that we usually talk about the mountain like Zaza, and this is the most extraordinary... friends since I was a toddler!

Their names are Lehaa and Kun. They are my age, but Kun is married and has a beautiful daughter named Lisa. And Leha, she's also married but has no kids yet. The three of us have been together since we were little. Honestly, I don't know the exact age when we started our friendship, because it was still very young where we only knew the name of playing games.

Our houses are still in the same block. After growing up and getting busy with each other, we still made sure to meet even if it was only twice a year. Even once if Leha didn't come home and went to her husband's house.

Were we bossy? Did we fight? Or did we fight over boyfriends or like the same men? Surprisingly NO! We have different tastes in boyfriends, fashion tastes, song tastes, idols, etc. We are all different. Strange isn't it? When decades of friendship showcases things that are all the same, unfortunately we don't have any. All we have is memories together that will continue to pile up until we grow old (aamiin).

I want to keep them in my life. I love them so much that words can't describe them. I love them and their families, and support whatever is good for their lives. I wish them happiness just as much as they wish me happiness.

We're 34 years old this year, so we've been together for almost 30 years. Isn't that great? Please pray for us to continue being together. Hey... I'm crying as I type this. I'm touched and feel grateful. Thank you guys for reading my posts. See you in the next post.
