My Father's Happiness... Karaoke Time!

It's no secret that Filipinos are passionate about karaoke. In our small community, we get to hear people singing their hearts out, especially on Sundays.

My parents and I also love singing, and music has been an integral part of our everyday lives. In the morning, my father would turn on my laptop and open Spotify. We usually use our TV's speakers since the quality is much better.

We listen to and enjoy a variety of genres, although my mom and I have been particularly fond of SB19 over the past few years. My dad somehow became an A'TIN (SB19 fan) as well because of us. hahaha

A couple of weeks ago, Papa and I went to my DaMy's place to return the suit he borrowed, then we went to SM Seaside to run some errands. While we were there, we entered a Japanese store for window shopping.

However, something caught my father's attention. He seemed to really like it, and it's been a while since he's expressed a desire to have one. It's a Bluetooth or Wireless karaoke speaker!

He was debating whether to buy it or not. We rarely buy our "wants" because we're not rich, and there are many other important things to spend our money on. However, I sensed that he truly wanted one.

I decided to let Papa buy it, then I'd pay half the price... and when I texted Mama about the situation, she sent me some money for her share as well. We couldn't give him any gift on Father's Day, so this served as a belated one.

Papa was smiling from ear to ear the whole time after buying it. His happiness is so simple, and it's also a great way for us to bond whenever I take a day off from work.

We first tested it at home by connecting it to my phone. The sound quality is good, and the device is easy to operate. The free microphone isn't the best, but it'll do for now. We'll just get a better one next time. :)

We had our karaoke session that weekend, and we truly had a fantastic time. It's nice to sing our hearts out from time to time while bonding with the family.

We weren't able to do so last weekend, though. I had to work the whole day on Saturday because the previous week was so hectic... and my father had to attend my uncle's burial ceremony yesterday. I couldn't go with him because of the time. I had to help my mom with our furbabies, and I also had some scheduled classes that morning.

Perhaps we'll enjoy some karaoke time again this coming Sunday after my morning classes are over. For now, we enjoy listening to our usual morning music using this speaker.

How about you? How do you typically spend time with your family? :D Feel free to comment below. ^^

That's it for this post. Thanks a lot for reading, and I look forward to seeing you around! I hope you all have a good one! (^^,)/

Nice that you enjoyed some great karaoke time together! Hopefully more sessions to come in future, hehe! 😊

How do you typically spend time with your family?

I see my family only once a year. Then we are making and eating good food together or spend time on the beach.

Thanks... yes, when I don't have to work on a weekend, then we'd likely be able to. :D

Oh yeah... you work abroad, right? So you really have to make use of the time whenever you come home. :) Take care!!! ^^

Yes, I work as domestic helper in Hong Kong and in addition make and sell food there. Time with family is always very precious when I can visit them.

That's true. It's time for you to relax and enjoy yourself with them after working hard in another country. ^^

Certainly one cannot find a house without a karaoke set in the Philippines. Weekends are the best times to gather together with family or friends along with a bottle of beer or two. We Filipinos are simply just enjoying it even if sometimes we are out of tune 🤣

Yeah... I don't let my father drink alcohol nowadays, though. XD
I don't mind people singing even when they're out of tune, but I sometimes get annoyed by drunk people singing. I can't understand their words anymore. XD
