The Guardians of The Cemetery
Good meowning from here!
I've recently seen about this week's ASEAN Hive Challenge, "Crazy For Cats", and I guess it's the right time to share a little story about the cats of the cemetery.
This cemetery has a signage at the entrance reminding visitors that pets aren't allowed which makes me question why there are cats roaming freely around the premises. But it's okay! It's actually fun because it's always a different cat coming over us. Some are shy, some are sneaky, and some are even great pretenders!

A cat or sometimes a bunch of them, would begin to appear some time after we've placed foods on mama's headstone. They after the food not pets. Lol.
Let's start with the shy ones.

These shy cats, I would say, are the most well-mannered in the gang as they would wait from a distance before they would come near to taste the food. They usually wait for us to leave before take their turn.

Then there's the opposite. They didn't care and they're not scared. They just straight up come and taste the food and won't budge even though we try to shoo it away. Maybe the cat is too hungry. We weren't able to do anything here so I just took a photo. Lol!
Next, I guess, is a dangerous one. The great pretender. This cat came to us meowing sweetly and rubbing its body against our legs. In my mind, I thought this cat is different from the others because it was really kind. It even rested beside us like it was our pet. Lmao. Until we finally noticed its ulterior motive. The cat would slowly position itself closer to the food as it circle us.

Last is the three-member gang. I thought a three-member group is only popular in anime but cats in real life do it too. The first cat we noticed was this black and white cat.

This cat gave us a good laugh because it thought it was perfectly concealing itself behind the wilted flowers but we can see the ears!

Busted! Hahaha! Looks like it wasn't happy that we found out where it's hiding.

And part of the gang was also a black cat from afar waiting for its chance to eat. The cat was also moving closer as it saw the black and white cat moving closer to the food.

As I was going over the photos, I realized that the three barbecue was meant for them. This black and white cat probably can no longer hold its hungry and came out from hiding. Maybe the food really smells so good for them.

Then a bit far from us is an orange cat, also stealthily moving closer. They quickly attacked the foods as soon as we moved away from the grave.
Honestly, I don't mind the cats roaming around and even consuming the foods I place on mama's grave. Instead of being thrown at the garbage, at least the food I offer to our mother also feeds hungry cats.
I also think these cats guard and protect the cemetery because cats were believed to be gatekeepers or guardians of the spirit world. They also ward off evil spirits.
They're mystical, soft, cute, with each having different cattitude. Aside from our mama, it's also the cats that I look forward to seeing.
I hope the staff of the cemetery aren't being mean to these cats. Well, I think they're not because the cats walk around calmly as if they own the entire place.
That's all! Thank you meowry much for reading!
thank you :)
