Shopping at my favourite supermarket and the Chop Chop chicken rice stall

Good morning to all my wonderful friends. It is another Wednesday. It's my rest day.

Going to head off to the dentist to have my teeth checked. I usually go for the government dental services. It's only around RM 1 per visit or around USD 25 cents.

This year, the Sarawak government has started giving everyone a special aid for buying groceries and food items. A majority of Sarawakians are eligible for this aid. It is a one-off RM 800 per year aid starting this year. It's around USD 200. This is something special from the Sarawak government. You can go into a supermarket and get anything you want and use this aid through the e wallet from Sarawak to pay. Sarawak has its own dedicated e-wallet for the state.

That is not all. The Malaysian government has also done a good job giving out another USD 25 a month for a whole year. So if you combine these two aids from the government, it's going to be a lot of happy customers at the supermarket. Supermarkets have been packed with lots of people buying essentials.

So many people are here queueing up to pay for their groceries at the counter.

These spaghetti have been selling like hot cakes. These are the instant spaghetti that have been invented here in Asia. Only RM 1.99 and as low as RM 0.80 cents. As long as one does not indulge, I think no matter what, we will be able to survive here in Miri.

It's great to see the crowd here and everyone buying stuff for their house.

After buying my groceries, I had to queue up here for quite some time.

I recently saw a viral post on my TikTok feed and decided to head to this stall to try out the roasted meat. As I arrived around 5 p.m. at the time that this place was about to open, I noticed a not so long line. Usually, at certain times, this place is going to have a long line.

The verdict is that the food here is just normal.

One of the things that have attracted a lot of people to queue up here is the cheap rice that they have here at their stall, which is around RM 5 or USD 1.25 per pack. So, if you know where to look, there is always something affordable around to get.

Waited for a while, and finally it was my turn for my order. It was quite quick. Not much waiting.

Some of their other menu items are on the wall. Their operating hours. Open at 5 p.m. till sold out. So, many who come here late won't get their roasted meat.
