Pudu - A great morning walk

Morning to all my friends,

How are all of you? Had your day been great?

Staying around Pudu, there are lots of things that you can do. From where I was staying, I wanted to go to this famous food court in Pudu. In the past, whenever I would come to Kuala Lumpur, I would be staying somewhere around Bukit Bintang since it is a tourist spot. But nowadays, I try out some of the other parts like Pudu.

These are some of the shop houses around this area. There used to be an infamous prison somewhere around here.

The Pudu Prison

In operation from 1890 to the early 2000s. The only thing left of this prison is the front gate. Nothing else is left. Nowadays, it has been converted to a shopping mall with only this gate left. It's a pity that is has been demolished or else, it could be an iconic place to remember what was Kuala Lumpur in the past. Some of the most notorious criminals were executed in this particular prison.

Anyways, I was on my way to the ICC food court in Kuala Lumpur. Pudu is not a tourist spot like Bukit Bintang, which makes it a good choice for staying. You won’t be seeing people walking around a lot.

Lota of skyscrapers around the city.

The Tun Razak Exchange is in front of us. This building looks near, but you need to walk around 15 minutes from here to reach.

TRX aka Tun Razak Exchange is one of the most iconic new building here in Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia has come a long way.

After walking for a while, here I am at ICC. There is a food court here on the first floor. Lots of food to eat. Is it safe to walk around here in Kuala Lumpur? The answer is ye,s but not to places that are isolated and dark.

One thing definitely gets to me is the heat. While I was in Perth for the whole week before coming back to Malaysia, the weather was below 20 degree celsius. As I was walking into the food court, my sweat came drenching downards.

So , I ordered a cup of their famous coffee. This is a famous cup of coffee. A great way to start the day.

This particular food court is home to many other stalls too. You are definitely going to find something that you want to try out.

My wife ordered this

A type of herbal soup with meat and lots of eggs.

Nasi Lemak

I ordered this plate of Nasi Lemak. Have you ever tried Nasi Lemak? The chicken here is not fried but in curry.

We also ordered a plate of Fried Kueh Tiaw. If you are in Malaysia, one of the most iconic fried noodles is the fried kueh tiaw. You have to try it out and you would be in love with it.

After our meal, it was time for us to set out for the next journey. A couple more hours before I fly back to Miri, Sarawak. Getting some time to walk around especially on the hunt for some blindboxes.

Thank you very much for reading this post. The next destination that is not accessible by walking is to TRX exchange area.

Have a great day.

"Kwetiau" is a Chinese flat noodle dish that suits many tastes, often stir-fried with vegetables, meat, or seafood, and seasoned with soy sauce and spices for a savory and delicious flavor profile.

Pudu gave you a real local experience, way different from the usual Bukit Bintang buzz! The food court is a total win. Nothing beats your day with some strong local coffee and iconic dishes.

It's a nice walk in the city during the early hours, when only a few people are outside. Sometimes a quiet morning walk is all we need, contemplating things around, sometimes it takes us somewhere with memories flooding our minds after passing by an old structure. That old prison is somewhat historical, but maybe there are more important things that the government considered when it was torn down.

This caught my attention "A type of herbal soup with meat and lots of eggs." I wonder what it tastes like. What is it good for? Must be cool to stroll around with your wife and eat something delicious afterwards.

Thanks for posting in the ASEAN Hive Community.

Hey, @justinparke here. Sorry for the inconvenience, but my family and I arrived in the USA and for several days we were busy getting over jetlag and visiting family. Now I am back to voting and curating, but will be voting at roughly 50% less than normal until I am caught up again. Sorry for the inconvenience and I hope for all to be back to normal within 48 hours.
