Cooking One of my Father's Favorite Food Adobong Sitaw (String Beans)
Hello! How are you? So, for our lunch, I am going to cook Adobong Sitaw, one of my father's favorite foods. I like the taste of savory, a hint of sweet, and a healthy vegetable, too. One of my family members cooked this dish and fell in love with it, so the first time I tried it, I failed, but after I discovered the techniques. One adds a lot of meat to it, and the next adds just a little water. I always forgot this important step, but now I am used to it, so whenever I cook one, I always add water, little by little, so that I can balance the taste of the dish. Do you this dish? Have you tried it? Let me show you how I cook it.
Ingredients I Used:
- Sitaw (String Beans)
- Meat
- 2 tbsp Cooking Oil
- 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 4 cloves Garlic
- 1 Red Onion
- Half Pork Broth Cube
- 1 Ginger
- Half tsp Ground Pepper
- Cup of Water
- Umami Seasoning
- 1 tsp Brown Sugar
Lets Cook:
In a pan, I pour 2 tablespoon of cooking oil.
When the oil was hot enough, I added the meat to the pan and cooked it until crispy on the sides.
When the meat is cooked, I will add aromatics like garlic, red onion, and ginger.
Next, I am going to add the string beans and sautee them for a minute to add more crispiness to the vegetables.
Mixing it to avoid burning.
Then, I am going to add half a teaspoon of ground pepper to add flavor to the beans.
After that, I added 2 tablespoon of soy sauce and mixed it for a minute to make the string bean absorb the flavor.
After that, I added a cup of water to the pan.
To add more flavor to the sauce, I am going to add half of the pork broth cube to the pan.
Next, I am going to add a half teaspoon of umami seasoning.
To balance the flavor, I added 1 teaspoon of brown sugar, and it served as a thickener to the sauce, too.
Then I close the lid and let it cook for about 5-10 minutes.
Thank you for visiting, see you on my next blog. :D

We love this too. Every week we have adobong sitaw on the table. It is very delicious especially if the vegetable is freshly picked. You can say " rice pa more please".
That is true! Mapaparami ka talaga ng kain ng kanin.
🤣
That's an interesting and tempting dish. Here, I can buy string beans at every fresh market or supermarket. I love eating them - they're crunchy and sweet as a fresh vegetable, or delicious when cooked. Thanks for sharing. 👍❤️
You should try it 😄that is true ! You’re welcome 😁
Yum! But I love my adobong sitaw a little maasim, I tried ot before nong bumili ako sa restaurant, malapit samin which is close na, sadly. And it's so masarap! Pansin ko lang walang suka itong version mo, still, I'm sure masarap yarn 🤤🤤.
One of my favorite is adobong sitaw.. so yummy and do enjoy your food.
same i love it too :D

There is an Indian version of this without the meat. Needless to say it sucks 😖. This on the other hand will taste delicious for sure thanks to the meat and umami seasoning!
I want this 🤤
The meat made this dish better, so yeah, without it, I don't like it too, LOL! Yeah, that is true. I want my flavor on my food xD
One of my favorites. The crunch of string beans with the not-so-soft browned pork gives that Wow feeling as they reach your tongue.
Same! That is true! yeah meat make it taste better :D
