A temple (ethnic group) in the Tai Yai art style, Wat Chong Paen, Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. This post I will take you to see another temple. This temple is in my district. This temple is called Wat Chong Paen. Wat Chong Paen is an old temple that is more than 100 years old. The temple is a common monastery of the Tai Yai people, another ethnic group living in the northern of Thailand.
Highlights of Wat Chong Paen are the temple with Tai Yai art style architecture and sculptures. In my district, there are only a few temples in the Tai Yai art style. And this temple is the first temple in the district to build a buddha image hall (viharn) in the Tai Yai art style.
There are two entrances to Wat Chong Paen. At the first entrance there are two serpent statue in Tai Yai art style. There are also two lion statues on the pillars and two statues of one of the mythological creatures in Thailand at the entrance. But the second entrance has only two lion statues on pillars.
There is a temple sign at the first entrance too. The temple sign is made of wood in the Tai Yai art style.
Inside the temple is a wide courtyard with a large buddha image hall (viharn) in front. This buddha image hall (viharn) is a newly built buddha image hall (viharn). Because of the fire at the old buddha image hall (viharn). The old buddha image hall (viharn) is the first Tai Yai art style buddha image hall (viharn) in my district. This new buddha image hall (viharn) is made of wood in the Tai Yai art style. The base and stairs leading up to the buddha image hall (viharn) are made of bricks and spread cement on bricks, painted white. The buddha image hall (viharn) is usually open for visitors inside. But unfortunately the buddha image hall (viharn) was closed that day. So I didn't have the chance to go inside the buddha image hall (viharn).
The temple's ordination hall (ubosot) is a small ordination hall (ubosot). This ordination hall (ubosot) is made of bricks and spread cement on bricks, painted white.
The temple's pagoda is smaller than other temples I have visited. This pagoda is a polygonal pagoda and a bell-shaped top with an tierred umbrella shape. There are Buddha statues on four sides of the pagoda too. In addition, there is a low wall surrounding the pagoda. And the statues of gods on this wall.
Finally inside the temple there is another building in the Tai Yai art style and section containing the monks' living quarters. But I didn't take photos of the section containing the monks' living quarters.
These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Please forgive any errors/mistakes. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗

This temple is quite remarkable to see in 100 years, but the snake statues in the place look even more interesting. Best wishes for your travel.
