Savory Pork and Veggie Medley: Potato, Squash and a Spicy Kick
Hi Hivers! What’s up? Are all in good shape? Take a deep breath, smile and let us start to buzz.
Same as usual, I’m all alone in the flat. Hubby leaves early at work because they have visitors today. Started my chores, a routine that I can do perfectly except one thing, the cooking! I admit that I’m not a good cook, it’s not my passion, but trying hard to learn since I became a plain housewife. I can do simple cooking like frying eggs and hotdogs, but main dish? Hhmm.. I think I had to open and look for my notes to get it right or I will search it in social media.
I asked my hubby what he wants me to cook for our dinner before he leaves at work, he said, anything. Omg! That answer really bothers me a lot, while doing the household chores. My mind was swirling of what food to prepare for dinner in fact it was still morning. I checked the fridge, I saw a ground pork. The veggies available was potato and squash. So this is it, problem solved, because he said anything.
Let me share to you my dish. These are the ingredients I will use.
Ingredients:
ground pork
potato
squash
garlic
onion
bell pepper
red chili (optional)
green chili (optional)
Oil
Salt
Pepper
Water
How to prepare:
*Cut the potato and squash into small cubes.
*Slice as what you desire (garlic, onions, bell pepper and the chili)
*a small amount of oil
*1 teaspoon of salt
*1/8 teaspoon of pepper
*1 1/2 cup of water
How to cook:
*heat a small amount of oil in a pan, once heated stir in the garlic and onions saute’ until it is fragrant.
*add the bell pepper, red and green chili, stir for 2 minutes
*add the ground pork and stir until light brown
*add pepper and salt and stir to blend
*add 1 cup of water, simmer until ground pork become tender
*add another ½ cup of water, then add potato and squash, simmer until 10 minutes.

It’s cooked and ready to served!
This food is rich in vitamins and nutrients. Potato is a source of fiber and also rich in antioxidant that prevent diseases and vitamins that can help our body function properly. Squash improve our cardiovascular health and increase our strength.
I served it hot. I looked at my husband’s face while he tasted the dish. His eyes rolled and said yes! Delicious! A big smile on my face. My heart was very happy. Another achievement for me.

I used to not know how to cook before, sometimes I mess up the food but I learned from that mistakes and do the right thing the next time hahaha practice practice lang talaga, kaya mo yan! 😁 Relate ako sa “ gusto niyong ulam? Kahit ano” ang sagot 😂
Now I'm learning some of the dishes, but sometimes when i cook the dish again, omg, i forgot how to do it😂 i have to open my notes again. haha😄 it makes me sick if the answer is "kahit ano" 😩😰
That's amazing! Same! Luckily may internet na tayo kaya madali nalang LOL. Before I have my notes too, kapag nasanay ka na eyeballin nalang, True tapos stress ka pa wala na kahit ano nadin ang ihahanda mo 😂
Social media really helps a lot. Sa mga kagaya natin 😁 just type the name of the dish and there! marami agad lalabas, iba-ibang style sa pagluto, You will just pick if sino sa kanila ang gusto mong sundin

Another recipe I've learned today. Before when I was single, I don't like to cook but the time I got married and having kids I am amazed of myself I can cook now because I have to cook.
I just used what veggies available in my fridge, it doesn't look attractive but its delicious 😊 My husband and kids have passion in cooking, that's why i didn't mind to learn it. Now, I'm pushing my self to learn more 😍
