Beyond Busyness: The Art of Embracing Boredom

It's a day beyond the realm of reason to get by, #Hivers! I am hoping that everyone is in the pink of health.

Boredom can strike even the most active of us. I, myself, got bored at times. I believe that boredom sparks creativity.

When I was in grade school, I decided to try my hand at writing my own stories. My teacher said that I’m good at ‘putting the words together and them coming out good’ thing. So, I started writing soul-stirring content, fiction stories, stage plays, and poetry at a young age.

Not long ago. I also went back to drawing, which I hated so much when I was a fine art student majoring in advertising. As of now, my drawings have improved from when I was a university student. I learned to love drawing day by day, though I am still not good at drawing a human figure.🤩

Today, boredom gets in my way. I turned off my laptop and started sketching. This is my way of getting rid of my boredom. I drew a one-winged butterfly, and the other wing was designed using three types of medium. I am fascinated by butterflies with their stunning colors. Don't you?

A while ago going to the Parish Church Office, I was greeted by a stunning butterfly 🦋 with blue-green colors with a combination of black colors on its edges. I was charmed by this flutter so here's what's on my figment of imagination in a frenzy. Using blue-green feathers.

I am not satisfied yet, I created another design of the same one-winged butterfly pattern using pink crystals and synthetic pearls. The outcome is stunning, but I want more...

Let's move to the next design, petals and leaves of roses. At first, I wanted to use the rose 🌹 flowers, but they could not suffice the design that's on my mind, as the roses in the garden had withered.

Which of the three do you like most?

As for myself, boredom has become a way to create. I can’t simply sit and look at walls; my mind wants excitement after writing and editing articles. I imagine things like mutant parakeets and the wonder of sliced bread! As I look back, I see how boredom helped me change into the unique, creative, and maybe a little free-spirited person I am today. I am a little bit giddy. My sketch pad, pencil, and eraser are always within my reach. Whenever boredom hits me, it turns out to be the spark that starts creativity.

Hey, #Hivers, why not share your moments of boredom with us? Let's see where your imagination takes you!

Thank you for checking out my blog. Catch you next time around. God bless everyone!🌷💖🕊️

I am mesmerized by how you transformed boredom into such a beautiful creation. The beauty of your butterfly drawing, accentuated feathers, rose petals, and crystals, is terrific.

I am glad that you like my kind of art. The information that captures my attention often fails to feed my soul or ignite my imagination. Rather than enriching my mind, it robs me of something invaluable—my sense of wonder. Being bored signals to the mind that you need fresh thoughts and spurs creative thinking. Before our era of hyper connectivity, boredom was an occasion of observation, a wonderful juncture of daydreaming. Now, we can use boredom as a way of creating beautiful things by your figment of your imagination. Thanks for swinging by @izyllah-aeon

Hmmm. I think I am the exact opposite. When I am bored, I am completely unproductive. My typical response to boredom is to sleep or play games.

Shopping is good, but if you are an impulsive buyer and bored, the tendency is to buy things that you don't really need.☺️

I am amazed Ma’am of how you manage your boredom into something very creative and unique. Artists are born to be artists and creativity is innate. Your rich imagination and resourcefulness is awesome. I admire you from being a strong independent woman and admire you more for having those gifted hands.

Oh, butterflies are one of nature’s most beautiful creatures. They are something that makes the Earth all around more beautiful and more enjoyable to live on. I am glad that you love that color too. Aquamarine is a calm color that reflects with water and plants.

Hi! I liked your post. I can remember my gay son to you, he loves art from the age of 4 years old. And this kind of artwork I always saw in his room. Especially when his bored or wants to relax. I can imagine your face after you have done this art, the smile on your face and the satisfice feeling. And by reading your post, it was fun to read and very inspiring. I agreed that being bored is not always a bad thing. Sometimes, it refreshes us to think of new ideas. I love how you used your free time to be creative. The one-winged butterfly idea is so cool! I could imagine the different designs you made. The one with pink crystals and fake pearls sounds so pretty. It’s also nice, like how a real butterfly gave you the idea. Nature is really teaching you how to come up with creative ideas. I’m more excited now for your next artwork and story in it.

Butterflies stand out as exquisite masterpieces in the tapestry of nature's wonders. Their graceful flight and vibrant colors have captivated our imagination which is why almost everyone loves the beauty of this flutter. It makes you mesmerized, and if you have creative ideas, you can make anything out of this alluring creature.

I believe that boredom is an art because, out of a figment of your imagination, there's no doubt that you can create a bad mood into a good one by creating beautiful pieces of art. This can also be a side hustle hack.

I am glad that you have a son who loves art. Surely his powers of thought are so productive and ideas are playing in his brain.🌹

I will be creating another art piece with a different medium. Just hold the lines for another artwork.😍
