Celebrating Our 2nd Year Anniversary

Is it just me, or do you also consider anniversaries memorable? Whenever I am in a relationship with someone, I don't count the months we're together, but the years. I prefer long-term, serious relationships over those that only last for months. Here's a story about my partner and me as we welcome a new year in our relationship.

My partner and I have known each other for about 8 years, but only had the chance to be together as a couple in 2023. And this year, we have celebrated our second year together. Since I view anniversaries as special events in life, we planned a date in the city and even chose to dine at a restaurant.

What have we planned for our anniversary celebration?

We wanted to go to the city, eat lunch at the restaurant we had chosen, explore the city mall, and even watch a movie at the cinema. We wanted to celebrate our day in such memorable yet straightforward ways.

And, of course, my favorite part was when we ate our lunch. We had a variety of delicious foods, which I previously shared in my blog. This was my favorite part because, aside from enjoying good food, it was also where we discussed our plans and goals as a couple.

While eating, we discussed what we would do with our savings, whether we would try to start a small business, and other similar topics. We even discussed some of our plans before this year ends. It includes processing our bank accounts, planning small investments, and starting to travel. But it all depends on how we manage our finances.

We are the type of people who don't care about fancy things or going all out on social media. We wanted our relationship to be private. Whenever possible, we strive to avoid social media dramas. And that's how we maintain peace and balance in our relationship. Yes, we also discussed this while eating – I asked if I could post our pictures on Facebook. He said it's fine since it's our celebration.

As couples, we know that we still have a long way to go. We are always up for the journey, whether it's good or bad; we know we will learn from it. And we want nothing but growth and success in our relationship.
