No Harvest Without Hustle
As I write this, I have just stepped out of the bathroom after a long day of working in the garden. Yesterday, I mentioned the weed growth that has taken over the garden in just a week, following three days of nonstop rain.
We began clearing the garden yesterday but couldn't complete the task. Honestly, it’s not a job meant for one person alone. If a strong man were to take it on by himself, it would take at least a full week of nonstop work, about seven days. There are different types of clearing, and this particular one requires extra care to avoid damaging the crops already planted. If that happens, a lot of effort would be wasted.
Since we couldn’t finish yesterday, we continued from where we stopped. As I mentioned, I employed a neighbour who has farming experience; he has been working on farms even before we moved here. I didn’t waste any time either, I picked up my cutlass and worked in the garden nonstop. I worked for about seven hours today, yet the work is still not done.
You can see the remaining part of the uncleared garden in the picture. Hopefully, we’ll be able to finish it tomorrow.
In addition to working in the garden, I also had to clean the goat and rabbit houses, as hygiene is essential for keeping them healthy and neat.
Farming is lucrative, but it demands time and resources. A lazy man cannot venture into this business and succeed. It’s not just about throwing money around; it requires hard work and persistence. Nothing good ever comes easy.

Weeds grow and spread quickly during the rainy season. It's good that you had some help in clearing them from your farms. Hope the work gets done soon :)
You're right. I will be sure to get chemical for them.
The goat stays in that pen, of is there a bigger pen for the goat? How many of them (goat) do you have?
I have about four of them and two from our neighbours.
Ohhh these can quickly multiply in a year or two.
The bigger the garden, the more work. Renoving weeds can be a lot of work indeed. Especially when you let it grown for a while.
I try to get into my backyard a couple of times a week and remove the weeds I see.
Hmm, that is thoughtful. I'm sure i will put that into use.
