Hello everyone, my name is @themyscira. I live in Germany, and we have a very seasonal climate where we go through all the phases – just as it should be for each season. Every now and then, the humidity is very high, but that doesn't matter.
About 4–5 years ago, I started a series of gardening projects and have now arrived at my little dream garden, which offers me plenty of space. I started gardening because I seem to have a really intuitive green thumb and the company of plants makes me feel at one with God's creation and able to see and marvel at His wonders.

However, what led me to this decision was a rather sobering situation: I no longer wanted to eat food that was heavily contaminated with pesticides, and I was in a phase where I realised how harmful this actually is to my health – and how it had been making me ill for years. God sent us to Earth to protect and care for it, and to be grateful for the harvests that we would never have without His help. This makes me more conscious of living in creation, and my appreciation has changed completely as a result. I don't just exist here – I live with creation by participating in it and observing it in all situations.

Gardening is my hobby, but I gain so much from it. I grow everything myself, from seed to finished vegetable, cook it myself and eat it with friends, who are always welcome to share in what the garden has to offer. The same goes for the animals – birds, insects and others that stray into my garden and help out, such as moles and hedgehogs.

What do I like doing most in the garden? Planting and harvesting. I love seeing small plants grow into large, sturdy vegetables, and my job is to protect them as they grow – like a shepherd tending his flock. I grow everything that is useful for humans and animals: vegetables, herbs and flowers are a very good combination, but I also grow a little fruit. This year, I will be tending to perennial vegetables and a wide range of herbs and flowers.
My greatest success in the garden is the perfectly balanced mix of crops to keep the soil healthy and as pest-free as possible. I also adhere to specific crop rotations to ensure a healthy and bountiful harvest.

It's difficult to name my favourite plant because I find all vegetables fascinating. However, if I had to name my favourite flower, it would be the cornflower. I love its brightness and that beautiful blue-purple colour that magically draws you in.

My most important lesson in the garden was to realise that equilibrium – balance – lies in God's hands, both in plant and human nature. If I lose my balance, so does my garden. If I remain balanced and patient, I see it everywhere in my garden. If I become stressed and panicked, I see it there too. No other work could give me a greater balance between mind and body than working in the garden – it shapes my soul. It is my relaxation, no matter what work I do there.

The garden is where I express everything that lives within me – joy, gentleness, tranquillity, patience, simply everything. Being part of it fills me with joy time and time again, and I hope to be able to remain part of it for a long time to come.
I read that a short poem would be welcome, and I actually wrote one about two weeks ago – inspired by my anticipation of the coming gardening season:

Time begins when God gives me gifts in the garden – through sun, earth, water and wind. And so we quickly enjoy fellowship in God's blessed gifts, where every leaf quietly tells us that we are His children.
(It rhymes in German, I don't know how it is in English.)

It just flows out of me, full of joy for what is to come. And I have already been able to make small preparations to ensure a wonderful gardening season – such as sowing seeds.

Hallo zusammen, mein Name ist @themyscira. Ich lebe in Deutschland, und wir haben ein sehr jahreszeitengemäßes Klima, in dem wir alle Phasen durchlaufen – so, wie es für die jeweiligen Jahreszeiten auch sein sollte. Ab und an ist die Luftfeuchtigkeit sehr hoch, aber das macht nichts.
Vor ca. 4–5 Jahren habe ich immer wieder Gartenprojekte gestartet und bin nun in meinem kleinen Traumgarten angekommen, der mir viel Freiraum bietet. Angefangen habe ich mit dem Gärtnern, weil ich anscheinend einen wirklich intuitiven grünen Daumen habe und mir die Gesellschaft von Pflanzen das Gefühl gibt, mit Gottes Schöpfung eins zu sein und seine Wunder sehen und bestaunen zu können.

Wie ich dazu kam, war jedoch eher eine nüchterne Situation: Ich wollte keine stark pestizidverseuchten Lebensmittel mehr essen und befand mich in einer Phase, in der mir bewusst wurde, wie viel davon tatsächlich gesundheitsschädlich ist – und was mich über Jahre krank gemacht hat. Gott hat uns auf die Erde geschickt, um sie wohlbehütet und sorgsam zu pflegen, und um Dankbarkeit den Erträgen zu widmen, die wir ohne sein Zutun nie hätten. Das lässt mich bewusster in der Schöpfung leben, und meine Wertschätzung ist dadurch eine ganz andere geworden. Ich existiere hier nicht einfach nur – ich lebe mit der Schöpfung, indem ich daran teilnehme und ihr in allen Lagen zuschaue.

Das Gärtnern ist mein Hobby, aber ich gewinne unendlich viel daraus. Ich habe vom Samen bis zum fertigen Gemüse alles selbst gezogen, koche es selbst und esse es mit Freunden, die immer daran teilhaben dürfen, was der Garten hergibt. Ebenso wie die Tiere – Vögel, Insekten und andere, die sich in meinen Garten verirren und helfen, wie der Maulwurf oder der Igel.

Was ich im Garten am liebsten mache? Das Pflanzen und Ernten. Ich liebe es zu sehen, wie kleine Pflanzen zu großen, stabilen Gemüsen werden, und meine Aufgabe ist es, sie in ihrer Zeit des Wachstums zu behüten – wie ein Schäfer seines Gartens. Ich baue alles an, was für Mensch und Tier nützlich ist: Gemüse, Kräuter und Blumen sind eine sehr gute Kombination, aber auch ein wenig Obst ist dabei. In diesem Jahr werde ich mich um mehrjährige Gemüsearten und eine breite Palette an Kräutern und Blumen kümmern.

Mein größter Erfolg im Garten ist das perfekt aufeinander abgestimmte Mischkulturen-Verhältnis, um die Böden gesund und möglichst schädlingsarm zu halten. Ebenso das Einhalten bestimmter Fruchtfolgen, um gesunde und gut wachsende Gemüsesorten ernten zu können.

Meine Lieblingspflanze zu benennen ist schwer, denn beim Gemüse faszinieren mich alle. Wenn ich jedoch meine Lieblingsblume nennen müsste, wäre es die Kornblume. Ich liebe ihre Leuchtkraft und dieses wunderschöne Blau-Lila, das einen magisch anzieht.

Meine wichtigste Lektion im Garten war zu erkennen, dass das Gleichgewicht – die Balance – in Gottes Händen liegt, sowohl in der pflanzlichen als auch in der menschlichen Natur. Gerate ich aus dem Gleichgewicht, tut es mein Garten auch. Bleibe ich in Balance und bin geduldig, erkenne ich es überall in meinem Garten. Gerate ich in Stress und Panik, sehe ich es ebenfalls dort. Keine Arbeit des Systems könnte mir einen höheren Ausgleich zwischen Geist und Körper schenken als die Arbeit im Garten – sie formt meine Seele. Es ist meine Erholung, egal welche Arbeit ich dort verrichte.

Im Garten findet mein Ausdruck von allem statt, was in mir wohnt – die Freude, der Sanftmut, die Stille, die Geduld, einfach alles. Es erfüllt mich immer wieder, ein Teil davon zu sein, und ich hoffe, es noch lange bleiben zu dürfen.
Ich las, dass ein kleines Gedicht willkommen sei, und tatsächlich habe ich vor etwa zwei Wochen eines geschrieben – aus meiner Vorfreude auf die kommende Gartensaison:

Die Zeit beginnt, wo Gott mir im Garten die Gaben erringt – durch Sonne, durch Erde, durch Wasser, durch Wind. Und so genießt man Gemeinschaft in Gottes seligen Gaben geschwind, wo jedes Blatt leise erzählt, dass wir seine Kinder sind.

Es strömt einfach aus mir heraus, voller Freude auf das Kommende. Und schon jetzt durfte ich kleine Vorbereitungen treffen, um eine wundervolle Gartensaison zu erleben – wie das Vorziehen von Saatgut.
Ich hoffe, dass ich den Erwartungen der Community gerecht werden konnte, und freue mich sehr, dabei sein zu dürfen. Ich wünsche euch allen einen wundervollen Tag und all das, was euch Gottes Schöpfung bereithalten mag. 💚
