NATURE MEETS NURTURE: The garden as Paradise where Soil and Soul Thrive Together
Hello, my dearest hive gardeners! I am thrilled to share my garden philosophy as a response to the Hive Garden Question of the Week- 'What's your garden philosophy?'
I started gardening when I was in the midst of my postpartum anxiety battle. This condition prompted me to quit my job and stay home to find peace and healing. And gardening was my lifesaver – it helped me recover and supported my son’s and my needs while on a pause for my career.
Gardening indeed helped me get through the most difficult point of my life. During that time, I focused on gardening, and seeing my plants thrive and yield an abundance of produce brought me a deep sense of peace and quiet joy. It became a kind of therapy—gentle, grounding, and unlike anything I could find while working outside the home.
In the stillness of the soil and the rhythm of tending to life, I developed a strong bond with nature—one that, I believe, played a vital role in my healing from postpartum anxiety. Each seed I planted, each leaf I watched unfurl, reminded me that growth takes time, care, and patience - just like recovery. The garden became my sanctuary, and in nurturing it, I learned to nurture myself again.
So, what is my garden philosophy? With my experience, I believe that the garden is a sanctuary of solace and healing, where nature meets nurture and every harvest feeds both body and soul. My own journey through healing is a testament to this truth. Gardening became my therapy, a quiet companion in the hardest of times. It fed my spirit with hope and peace, even as it filled our table with food.
And of course, like it does for many, gardening also became a practical blessing. I remember how my snow cabbages helped meet my son’s milk needs after I left my job, and how baskets of cucumbers helped cover bills when times were tight. In every way—emotional, physical, and even financial—my garden stood with me. That’s why I see it not just as a hobby, but as a living philosophy: one where healing, growth, and abundance are deeply rooted in the soil.
Thanks for taking the time to read my story. I hope to stop by your corner and read yours too as you share your garden philosophy.

Your white bokchoi really really healthy! Mine, this week really challenging with grasghoper 😭
Thanks for the visit @anggreklestari. I'm sad for your bokchoi, I hope they survive and thrive. Can you attract grasshopper predators in your garden? They will help drive away the grasshoppers and reduce their number since they will eat them. 💚
