Is there a plant that has grown unexpectedly, or have surprised you?

For me a lemon plant has not only surprised me but also creates guilt inside me for not taking it's care well, want to know why ?

DSC09731.JPG

These lemons look amazing like grown up from a nicely cared plant, isn't it ? But that's exactly opposite, every time I go to my native, this plant has surprised me and has created some kind of guilt in me, for not taking it's care. Plants reciprocate feelings, isn't it ?

DSC09721.JPG

When the boy was a kid, he took interest in plants and wanted to grow one. I vaguely remember bringing this native variety lemon from a village during one of our trip, and it was so juicy that I wanted to grow a plant from those seeds. So one fine day, I prepared a small poly packet and brought and kept in the balcony, and asked the kid to take the seed of that lemon I kept and sow the seed in that poly packet. Few days after the sapling appeared and every morning the kid would go to the balcony and see it before going to school - that feeling of the bonding between a kid and a plant cannot be expressed in words. I always wanted to involve him with plants from childhood - that is how they build a strong emotion towards nature. Slowly the plant grew and it grew so much that, it could no longer be accommodated in the balcony. But in that process, his belief to be a good farmer was proven - it generates so much gratitude when they see it in real.

DSC09734.JPG

So what do we do now kid ? Where do we take this plant ? He did not want to be apart from the plant, and wanted to see it grow and bear the fruit. So he advised to take it to my native and plant there. When I took the plant inside the car, he went and made sure, the plant is not hurt - I could see his sentiments and emotions grown over the years.

So I took it to my native and kept it there but unfortunately never could dig a big hole and replant it. But the plant did not give up and started growing on it's own and extended it's root and now look at these lemons.

DSC09738.JPG

We did offer first few to the God as gratitude and when I brought these and showed the boy, he was delighted - Wow, next time you must do something to take better care. I don't know how to make it better, may be put some barricade on ground and fill it with compost ? But it certainly reminds me that I have an unfinished job to do. Let me present you few more photos :

These lemons look good. To me they signify resilience. Despite not being often cared of they thrived and survived beautifully.

Like wise i bought a hibiscus plant (yellow variety) from my sister's place and sowed it on my terrace pot. I went back to Delhi and when i returned after few month, it survived of its own. now it a grown plant and give us flower every day. Now put me in a situation of how to remove it. it is now good 6 feet tall, i usually trim it every year to keep the height short

Yes, it just makes our job more difficult. Now there is no way I can take it and replant, instead I have to build a home there only.

Good morning, dear friend @sanjeevm

You've done well to instill these values in your child. A person who grows up close to nature is someone with good feelings toward Mother Earth. My congratulations to your child for this love of nature.

It was a wise decision to bring him into your home, there's more room for his development.

Nature is wise, dear friend. It makes wonderful things. What beautiful fruits. May you enjoy these lemons.

Have a great day.

I can imagine your son's happy face when he saw the lemons produced by the plant he planted from seeds.

What a beautiful connection between children and nature.

What beautiful lemons, Mr. @sanjeevm

Yes, children would love to engage with plants, unfortunately, very few take steps to make that happen.

It’s amazing how plants thrive even with little care sometimes, like they remember the love they started with. This lemon tree seems to be holding onto that early bond.

Lemon is one of my favorites. I don't think I could grow anything quite so nice here. We had an apple tree at our old house, but that pretty much took care of itself.

This story beautifully shows how even a neglected plant can thrive through love and resilience, a living reminder of the bond between nature and childhood.

There are times when one waters the seeds and truly does not expect any plant to grow, but nature surprises us. The last one was a passion fruit which was born and developed in the same place. It is a shame that we had to cut it because there were many dangerous animals. Although its fruits are good for making juices, our safety comes first.

The plant did grow well! It even made fruits

My son has a bond with a strawberry plant, he always look for it every day

A plant that surprised me is this one above, I planted 1 small piece and it took all the vase in few months without any care, under the heat of summer or ice of winter, it always lasts

Despite not caring for it, the tree did grow well and thrived. I can imagine how excited your boy was when you told him where you got the lemon from

I actually think we have some plants that have grown unexpectedly. Examples like unwanted plants that we call weeds

Now that it is giving some fruits, you will want to take more care of it. The fruits grew so well. Very amazing
Many times, I won’t plant anything in my compound and I will just see some vegetables or pepper that will begin to grow

In fact, when a seed becomes a plant and a plant grows into a tree, feelings begin to be recreated within us. If we have paid more attention to the plant, we feel happy, and if we have paid less attention to the plant, we feel guilty.
My daughter also paid great attention to the cultivation I do, but until recently she did not get involved in cultivation. However, due to an assignment given at school, she planted a green chili plant. Now she is watering the plant every day and watching it grow with interest. Children should be introduced to plant propagation from a small age.

The love of your boy to this plant is amazing I guess that's what encourages the lemon planet to survive, hehe.

They are looking great, despite not being cared of that often...

These are the best plants, the ones that grow when you least expect it, they resist almost everything and give excellent fruits.

There are many plants whose seeds are thrown and almost all of them come out, such as those of Lechoza or Papaya.

When I was a young boy, I remember my father had planted a lemon tree at home that used to bear "Seedless" lemons on it and that too in abundance.

Quite interestingly my dad would then invite some relatives to show it's beauty and give a small paper bag with couple of ripe lemons in it.

Homemade lemon squash was readily available for one and all who would visit us.

Now.. memories though!

We have this tree with fruits called star apple, and it has grown massively. I remember I just thrown some seeds right where it is back then.

The way your son cared for the plant and how it continued to grow shows how deep that connection is. I believe you’ll find the right way to care for it now. Nature truly responds to love, even in silence. The plant never gave up and those lemons are more than just fruit, they’re a symbol of care and growth.

Wow that kid is more responsible in taking care of a plant than me😄 but lemons are not hassle to raise though.
