All Baby things - April Hive Garden Journal

Do you know, it's now scientifically proven that, Jackfruit has power to treat Diabetes and fatty liver - the biggest killers ?

April Garden.png

Everything looks cute in baby stage, isn't it ? The spring is about to end soon and our summer is quite harsh, with high temperatures (touching more than 45) and humidity, making it feel like a sauna outside, so most gardening activities are in pause. But the fun part of this season is that Nature offers us some nice fruits, that does not need every day care - not even watering these plants - they are self sustainable. I am exploring how to get these Jackfruit flour from our Koraput , if you are interested to get it, do let me know.

DSC07931.JPG

This year feels like a party for this plant - last year, it had only two Jackfruit, and look at this - feels like the plant wanted to show it's strength with a visible certificate :)

DSC07912.JPG

The interesting fact about these Jackfruit plants is that, nothing happens to them in thunder storms, that come quite often during these times.

DSC07932.JPG

DSC07935.JPG

Like last year, I will have to call our football team member to get the ones in the top - they are almost invisible. This one is the ripen variety but we do have a curry variety as well, which is not behind as well in the competition.

DSC07917.JPG

DSC07913.JPG

Easy to pick, this is now often in the menu - do you know, Jackfruit has power to treat Diabetes and fatty liver ? Recently I saw a Ted talk show on that and here is the link :

We have abundance of this biggest fruit given by Nature but unfortunately, many don't realize. I am teaching these key values of life to my kids, at times I feel, possibly these are the biggest gifts that we can give to our kids - to know what to eat and how nature has given all the healers to us.

DSC07938.JPG

Before wrapping up on Jackfruit , I must share the above photo - it will be amazing to watch how this branch will hold that Jackfruit as it grows - nature is fascinating.

DSC07962.JPG

And now let's move on to the most lovable fruit - Mangoes...

DSC07941.JPG

Unlike last year, we have got the most in this one tree - there are very few in other plants, but we are not disappointed - this is the most sweet mango that we are privileged to have - nothing from the market even can match with this.

DSC07960.JPG

And monkeys have discovered that as well - to stop them, Mom has put these thorn barriers collected from the apple berry plant. They are pretty fearless now a days.

DSC07973.JPG

And we have got some litchi this year, but we know, they won't be spared by birds. Putting net would possibly prevent that, I will see, if I can do that before I go back.

DSC07970.JPG

The tree is not a big one, but putting the net on top is not a single man's affair, so will have to ask Mom to help in.

I have another fascinating story to share, more to come on my next post....

I have never seen jackfruit in reality nor do I know what it tastes like and I was surprised to see that jackfruits grow on the thickest trunk of the tree, perhaps they are quite heavy.

what it tastes like

The raw one that is used in curry tastes like meat, and the ripen ones are very sweet.

Wahhh, that's a lot of Jackfruit they'll be ready to be harvest soon, and I didn't know Jackfruit has that kind of awesome benefits. We love Jackfruit especially as a vegetable, that one cooked with coconut milk. It's the best Vegetable dish for me to be honest. It's the best too as fruit of course and as Jam. Your garden is really full of amazing fruits and plants. It's mango season now but I haven't even eaten some of that.

I didn't know the temperatures were so high in the summer, especially the humidity, which makes the heat unbearable.

It's great that your plants are full of fruit this year. It will be so much fun to pick so much fruit.

Fruits, if you know their properties, are truly magical for our health.

Your garden is full of fruit trees; the Mago and the Apple trees are delicious.

Enjoy it, dear friend @sanjeevm.

Wow, that is pretty interesting. I didn't know that bout jackfruit. I think it isn't very common here unless you are lucky enough to find a store where they import it. I can't remember ever seeing it in my local grocery store. I think I saw it at Jungle Jim's though.

Amazing, the jackfruit tree is doing awesome this year then. I'll admit there are some fruits I haven't had yet, just basic mangoes and oranges. The photo with all the fruits looks great. The plants are very strong

It is true that all of these fruits are just beginning to develop and are in their Baby stage at the same time, as it is well said, the best thing they have is the ability to last much longer with less water.

It's a good one there, teaching your children the importance of these blessings nature has given to us. There are so many things that we won't have to complain about if we know the much nature has provided for mankind.

Wow! I had no idea jackfruit could help with diabetes and fatty liver. I have always knew nature is amazing! Your garden looks incredible, and that harvest is definitely a celebration I must say. I am so excited to learn more about the jackfruit and I am sure there are still more things to be learnt.

Here in Venezuela we also have some of those fruits, for example Papaya and Mango, which in some cases are perhaps too big to enjoy and in others we have them in the Baby stage, but the important thing is that nature blesses us with excellent fruits.

Few months back I have seen this video clipping of the jackfruit topic. Here in Kerala, most of the houses have jackfruit trees and they are used though raw or ripe. The fruit, seed and the thick tender stem are used for cooking. Happy to know about the importance you give for a jackfruit tree
