Sustainable Gardening: Transforming Dry Leaves into Fertile Soil
I've been working overtime for several weeks now, which has made it difficult for me to tend to my vegetable garden. I haven't been able to add new soil or fertilizer in preparation for planting pumpkins, chili peppers, tomatoes, and string beans. However, last night, when I arrived home at 10:40 in the evening, I seized the opportunity to collect a bag of dry leaves I had gathered from the area near the bus stop.

Next to the bus stop, there are large trees, and the small leaves fall to the ground and accumulate on the sides. This gave me the opportunity to collect and gather them whenever I had the chance.
I gather all the dry leaves I can find every night and spread them in my garden until it's full. This serves as both fertilizer and soil for my plants."

This is a great opportunity before the end of September for me to prepare for planting vegetables. I just need to ensure that the soil or the dry leaves remain moist so that the seeds I've chosen can germinate quickly.

Perhaps I should consider removing the cage I built for the rabbits and converting it into a vegetable garden. I'm thinking about planting UBE, potatoes, or even just sweet potatoes there.

From the dry leaves I collected, I painstakingly remove any small plastic and cigarette butts one by one to prevent them from obstructing the plant's roots and growth.
I recall a time when I was collecting dry leaves from the side of the road in the car parking area last year, and the police officers saw me. They were pleased with my efforts because I had voluntarily cleaned up the road, and they even congratulated me. hahaha.

it really is a good organic fertilizer 🙋
Yes, indeed! ^_^
I did not know that dried leaves serve as fertilizer, I will try it in my garden, thanks for sharing.
It was also a bit acidic which plants need. ^_^
