Cold Rainy Day: Drinking Mate, Hiving, and Garden Views (EN-SP)
HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN
Rainy days are so special to me. They give me this sensation of resting. They tell me in a quite and soft way to stop. It's the way nature has to say: just relax, it's my time to work and your time to enjoy. Not that I sat down for the whole day but on a rainy day like this I really took it quietly, plus it is a great moment to write on Hive.
In Cuba, It's this time of year where from time to time weather turn chill. From November to February we have the so called "Frente fríos"; "Cold fronts are a meteorological phenomenon that occurs when a cold, dense air mass advances and encounters a warm, light air mass." Since Cuba is mostly warm all year long. They don't happen often but just in "winter season", they come usually with rain and low temperatures of 20 Celsius degrees and sometimes lower. When they arrive the body (at least mine) enters in this hibernating mode and some tea or infusion is the best companion. Today's turn goes to Yerba Mate.
The mate is a famous South American herbal infusion made from "yerba mate" leaves and hot water. It is a natural energy booster that helps you focus better than coffee and is full of antioxidants to protect your health. Many people love it because it improves digestion and is perfect for sharing with friends in a social circle. In this case I’m sharing with myself and my plants.

When the Frente Frios come also the garden turns beautiful due to the drizzling rain. The plants look fresh, so I took my camera to photograph the water drops on the leaves. Now, I am drinking Yerba mate and enjoying this amazing moment. I really love the weather these days; it feels very calm. Also, gives me creativity to write amd enjoy while listening to Karunesh.
The weather turns blue,
The garden is fresh and new.
A soft song is playing,
While the drizzling rain is staying.
This rhythm feels so right,
Under the cold, gray sky,
With my mate and my soul,
This moment makes me whole.
Some people don't enjoy these kind of days, they say that they feel sad or lonely. I can understand why but it takes a different perspective when all the magic is revealed with the right pair of eyes. There is no sadness outside when it rains or it is cold but just inside. Outside, it is just happening the preparation for a new time. Nature is just making sure there is a balance in its being. It brings life, colors and freshness to the enviroment. Next time I hear someone saying this, I would show them the beauty of these days.
I sip my mate with it is still warm, I notice it needs more yerba and hot water. Mate is really a good friend on days like this. Hands get cold and the warm cup helps them keep nice after being outdoors.
It is not extremely cold but since we are not used to this temperature in Cuba, we feel it. Still very enjoyable, at least for me.

The garden get its vivid colors every time it rains, I can hear the plants whispering freshness and happiness. These pictures will tell you more.
These are the beauties I captured today during the rain. It's so rewarding to see how new leaves are growing. I enjoyed it very much as much as my Yerba Mate 🧉.

LOS DÍAS FELICES LLEGARON NUEVAMENTE
Los días de lluvia son muy especiales para mí. Me dan una sensación de descanso. Me indican con calma y suavidad que pare. Es la naturaleza diciendo: simplemente relájate, es mi momento de trabajar y el tuyo de disfrutar. No es que me haya sentado todo el día, pero en un día lluvioso como este me lo tomé con calma, además de ser un buen momento para escribir en Hive.
En Cuba, es en esta época del año donde, de vez en cuando, el clima se vuelve frío. De noviembre a febrero tenemos los llamados "Frentes Fríos"; "Los frentes fríos son un fenómeno meteorológico que ocurre cuando una masa de aire frío y denso avanza y se encuentra con una masa de aire cálido y ligero". Cuba es mayormente cálida durante todo el año. No son frecuentes, pero solo en invierno. Suelen venir con lluvia y temperaturas de hasta 20 grados Celsius, e incluso menos. Cuando llegan, el cuerpo (al menos el mío) entra en un estado de hibernación y un té o infusión es el mejor acompañamiento. Hoy le toca el turno a la yerba mate.
El mate es una famosa infusión sudamericana hecha con hojas de yerba mate y agua caliente. Es un energizante natural que ayuda a concentrarse mejor que el café y está lleno de antioxidantes que protegen la salud. A mucha gente le encanta porque mejora la digestión y es perfecto para compartir con amigos en un círculo social. En este caso, lo comparto conmigo mismo y con mis plantas.

Cuando llega el Frente Frío, el jardín se embellece con la llovizna. Las plantas se ven frescas, así que cogi mi cámara para fotografiar las gotas de agua en las hojas. Ahora estoy tomando mate y disfrutando de este momento increíble. Me encanta el clima de estos días; se siente muy tranquilo. Además, me da creatividad para escribir y disfrutar escuchando Karunesh.
El clima se vuelve azul,
El jardín se siente fresco y nuevo.
Suena una suave canción,
Mientras la llovizna persiste.
Este ritmo se siente tan bien,
Bajo el cielo frío y gris,
Con mi mate y mi alma,
Este momento me llena de plenitud.
Algunas personas no disfrutan de estos días; dicen que se sienten tristes o solas. Puedo entender por qué, pero la perspectiva cambia cuando toda la magia se revela con la mirada adecuada. No hay tristeza afuera cuando llueve o hace frío, solo adentro. Afuera, solo ocurre la preparación para una nueva época. La naturaleza simplemente se asegura de que haya un equilibrio en su ser. Trae vida, colores y frescura al ambiente. La próxima vez que escuche a alguien decir esto, le mostraré la belleza de estos días.
Tomo mi mate a sorbos, aunque aún está tibio; noto que necesita más yerba y agua caliente. El mate es un gran amigo en días como este. Las manos se enfrían y la taza caliente las mantiene frescas después de estar al aire libre.
No hace mucho frío, pero como no estamos acostumbrados a esta temperatura en Cuba, la notamos. Aun así, es muy agradable, al menos para mí.

El jardín adquiere sus colores vivos cada vez que llueve; puedo oír a las plantas susurrar frescura y felicidad. Estas fotos te lo dirán. Más.
Estas son las bellezas que capturé hoy bajo la lluvia. Es muy gratificante ver cómo crecen las hojas nuevas. Lo disfruté muchísimo, tanto como mi yerba mate 🧉.

Most Dendrobiums are epiphytes, which means "air plants." In the wild, they don't grow in dirt but cling to tree branches, drawing moisture and nutrients from the air and rain. They are true canopy dwellers!

💧 Water: They love a good soak but need to dry out almost completely before the next watering. Never let them sit in standing water.
