Updates on the Plants Featured in August.
Let's do some updates! Starting with posts from August. Oldest ones first.
There was a post on Potting Baby Carnivorous plants done Aug. 13, 2025.

On the left is the photo from that post. On the right, the same pots. Here is a close up of one of those babies...

These will be ready for sale in the next two months. The stores love when I come in with very healthy plants that will take out the insects wherever they are placed.

I bet you are wondering what that orange thing is at the top of the tower. That's a funnel, and it's attached a PVC pipe that goes to the very bottom of the clay pot.

It has holes drilled in it every 4 or 5 inches, so that I can fill that PVC pipe and it will water the plant in its entire height. I noticed that I was having less growth at the bottom, as if water was not getting there.
I have decided to plant smaller potatoes (the kind you can buy in a bag at the groceries store) at the very top of the tower. That way the smaller ones will be mature at the same time that I harvest the bigger potatoes below.
There was a post on Clearing a crowded pot from Aug. 21, /2025

On the left is the photo from that post. On the right, the current state of the Venus Flytrap.

Well it now has a flower on top. It hasn't bloomed yet. I'm hoping to get some Venus flytrap seeds when it does.
There was a post on Exotic Sarracenia posted on Aug. 28, 2025

On the left is the photo from that post. On the right, the current state of the Serracenia after repotting it.
It has two new leaves. Here is the smaller of the two. They grow almost flat and then they seem to fill with air as the mature. Finally, they open and form the cap that hovers over the trap.

Here is the larger of the two new leaves.

It has just opened and the long tubular leaf will be filling with digestive juices to attract prey!
There was a post on an Avocado Tree "that lived" - posted on Aug. 29, 2025

On the left is the photo from that post. On the right, the current state of the Avocado tree.
You can see on the left, that it was just starting to get its springtime greenery. The one on the right shows that all of that new growth has turned into beautiful new branches.
I love the different shades of green on the leaves and the reddish tones that come out. No signs of flowers yet. This is my first avocado tree, so I am excited to see what comes of it.
For all of you that have been following along, I hope this post has quenched your thirst for an update on the plants you have seen me working with. Spring is upon us deep-down-under. Growth is abundant now. You will see more things happening in the coming weeks and months.

STOPIt’s so nice to see how beautiful your plants are, especially the new sprouts I can really tell they’re growing well. Even the avocado looks so healthy! You can clearly see how much care and effort you’ve given to your plants.
Thank you. Everything is growing so fast now that the weather warmed up a bit. Over winter there was not a lot of repotting to be done, but now I have to do at least two per day.
Wow, your plants are growing beautifully! I love how creative your setup is, especially the funnel and pvc idea for watering, its so smart idea. Can’t wait to see the potatoes and that flower in full bloom soon!
I know. It has been so long since I have seen a Venus flower. I cannot even remember what color they produce. I would love to have some seeds to plant and get more traps. They do the best job of catching the larger bugs.
A lots of plant , more plants , more harvest. I can't wait to see how beautiful and fresh they are. You are truly a gardener , it looks fantastic of your ideas when it is arranging it on funnels and colorful flowerpot.
Yes, I am a bit worried about the harvest of the potatoes at the bottom of the tower, but I will wait until the top plants mature - I am still planting more until it fills up to the top. Thank you for re-blogging my posts.
That was nice of you!
Don't worried as long as they have sprouts they will all grown.Don't stop planting as long as you want to plant. This is your passion , and have a nice day ahead! 😚
