When Old Vines Give New Life: My Sponge gourd Journey From Harvested Fruits to Fresh Sprouts of Hope

Hello everyone! Today I want to share a story my simple but precious backyard garden, and how my sponge gourd plants became a reminder of hope and blessings in small beginnings. 🌱✨🌿
This is my little garden at home. It may not be big, but for me, it is already a blessing, Rain or shone, this small space helps us. Sometimes, it gives us food for the table and sometimes it becomes a small source of income. Even if its just a few vegetables, I’m thankful for it because it truly helps our family.

Here’s a throwback photo of my previous harvest. I can still remember how proud I felt seeing all those sponge gourds hanging beautifully on the vines. It’s such a wonderful feeling to see the result of your hard work. Every plant I grow reminds me that effort and care always pay off in time.

Now, my sponge gourd vines are already laying down, full of mature fruits Some ore big enough to harvest, but instead of selling the, I decided to keep them for seeds. These fruits will be my next generation of plants. For me, saving seeds is a smart and practical way to continue the cycle, instead of spending money to buy new seeds, I can use what nature already gives me.
Sometimes, people look down on gardeners or famers just because our lives seem simple. They don’t understand how much effort and love we put into our garden, they don’t see that one small seed can bring food, income and joy not only to one family but even to a community. Being a gardener is not just about planting, its about growing hope and providing life.

After I harvested the mature sponge gourd, I saved the seeds and planted them again. Just after three days, they started sprouting! It made me so happy to see those little green seedlings pushing through the soil! Sometimes, I cultivate the soil first, but honestly, when I’m busy, I just plant them directly. Even so, they still grow strong!
Since I have so many seedlings now, I plan to sell some. Maybe someone will buy the, and start their own garden too. At least, I’ll have a little extra money to buy food or household needs.

Being a gardener taught me many things, patience, gratitude and faith. Its not always easy, sometimes its tiring, sometimes I lose some plants. But the joy of seeing one seed grow into something useful and beautiful is worth it.
Gardening is not just about growing vegetables. Its about growing peace in your heart and learning to appreciate life simple blessings.
So, to my fellow dreamer gardeners, never underestimate what your small garden can do, keep planting, keep believing, and keep sharing the blessings of your hands.

Always remember: One small seed can bring a big blessing – not just to you, but to everyone around you. 💚

Thank you so much! You’re right, even the smallest act of kindness can grow into something beautiful. It reminds me that what we plant in others finds its way back to us. 🌱
Because of Hive gardeners, I definitely don't feel this. Gardeners and closest to the earth. They understand natural cycles and the importance of caring for the environment. And this post brings me joy... You truly write so beautifully about the garden and how important it is to you.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes I agree, here in Hive, I’ve found people who see the real value in what we do, nurturing life, finding peace in the soil and appreciating every small growth. 😍
