Giving plants as return gifts in functions
Today, it has become a trend to give plants as return gifts at functions. There are so many things that are being given as return gifts, but giving plants as return gifts is a very nice thing because there is a need for them in today's world. I attended functions today and yesterday, and my friend had organized for plants to be taken away from the function. The interesting part for me was the cost of each plant.
He had bought and kept around 500 plants for people to take away, and he paid around 5000 Rs for that. Which brings the cost of each plant to 10 Rs. So overall, the cost was less than 50 dollars, and I would say that it was very cheap. I know for a fact that the cost can vary based on the type of plant that people are giving. Last month, my wife attended a function, and there they gave some indoor plants as return gifts, and it was also in a pot. I think that was a costly option because they gave indoor plants, and it was also in a plastic pot.
I picked a few plants from that function, and it is still looking very good, and today again I picked a few plants from my friend's function. One thing to note from these functions is that people have a garden in their house can only take these plants. Those who live in apartments may not find this very useful. Probably they can keep some plants in their balcony area, but it is not worth growing bigger plants there. It is not convenient for us and at the same time it is also not very good for the plants.
Currently I have shifted those plants from today into a pot, and it looks good. After it grows a little bigger, maybe I will consider moving it to some other bigger pot or a location in the ground. One thing that I learned from this is that plants are available for a cheaper price if we ask them, and there is also a demand for these, where people try to take them and use them in their homes. When my friend was spending a lot of money on this function, spending an additional 5000 Rs for return gifts in the form of plants is not a big deal at all.

Using part as a gift is something new to me. I haven't seen where they use plant as a gift in this part of the world. Maybe i haven't attended a function where such are giving.
Such a gift is rare, and I think it is good as it will serve as a way of encouraging people to value planting more.
no plants for functions here, actually no one sells anything after functions beside some teachers couple times a year to gather some money for school

Lol it's very common here to give plants as a return gift. But apart from that food and other return gifts would compensate the 1000 Rs. 😉
A great and environmentally friendly idea, distributing plants as gifts on special occasions shows environmental awareness and encourages people to plant and care for nature.
I would like to take care of plants or even the garden, but for work I have zero time. When I retire I would like to dedicate myself to growing something. If HIVE goes to $50 I would like to buy some farmland and grow bamboo
