Using up some glitch rare candies to power level

This is a play through of Pokemon Blue by using RetroArch to emulate the game. I am randomising the Pokemon in areas with similar strength so it isn't completely randomised, while choosing three starters of similar types

Another attempt was made to now duplicate the ultra Balls so then there would be a lot spare, for catching a variety of different Pokemon to come and with luck, a level 80 glitch Pokemon was found and run away from, this provided a different looking glitch duplication but at least, there were now even more ultra balls!

Next was to go into the Seafoam Islands so that strength could be used, for pushing the boulders down the giant holes in the ground for some reason.. then after doing one of them, leveling up Pokemon with the rare candies to drastically boost the strength and reduce time required by cutting out the grind for levels.

Dragonair was first up and soon after starting, dragon rage was learned which is a move it should have as a dragon type Pokemon, along with it being a cool ability. They were used until Dragonair was level fourty five.

Venonat was up next because as the starter it was going to stay with Goliath. The leveling finally helped it evolve into Venomoth, soon after was psybeam learned and this is a crucial move to allow high damage output, from its psychic abilities and level thirty eight is where the leveling stopped at for now.

Muk was leveled up to fifty to beef it up so much more before Vulpix was leveled up a bunch. This got it learning flamethrower and fire spin as two moves Goliath wanted before he used a fire stone, to evolve this one into Ninetails.

The fire spin can be especially useful when having higher speed as it acts like wrap.. it will stop them from moving and taking a turn while lowering the opponent Pokemon's health.

Back to the boulder pushing inside of Seafoam Islands to get the strong water current, to be blocked off so it would allow the real way to get through to the other side that leads to Cinnabar Island.. but that is not all, since there is tales of a legendary flying Pokemon in these islands and that is exactly what was met!

RetroArch Screenshot 2025.05.06 - 20.28.23.83.png

Venomoth happened to be the one that was first up for battle and against a fire and flying type like Moltres, it was not a good fight.. sleep powder was successful at least and after a weaker psybeam it was time to use Blastoise and surf for the type advantage to do a lot of damage, over two uses to bring Moltres into a good capturing point.

Pokemon were being dropped easily right now but that was fine, Dragonair used thunder wave because paralysis is always a good move to ensure, catching something is easier and smoother. Well it happened to be the same in this case, Moltres was caught with ease and this was the first major Pokemon catch in a while now.

Finally after getting through pushing those boulders around, Goliath and his now mightier team were out of the Seafoam Islands and on their way to Cinnabar Island.

It wouldn't be leaving a cave, without having a trainer fight right there soon after you exit it.. Porygon was first up and easy pickings for the weakened Dragonair, leading into a Pikachu fight that Vulpix would win before it took out Farfetch'd and the battle was over.

Now he would be able to skip passed all the other trainers here and reach Cinnabar Island poke centre, healing up before trading in the new Moltres and high level Golduck previously caught, to bolster the party and ensure Moltres was taught fly in order to travel around easily!

Emulator used: RetroArch with a Gameboy Colour core
ROMS: Pokemon Blue after being put through the randomiser
Saving: (Used for quick loading and for getting back to before I had all Pokemon faint, if I lose and so it is quicker.)
