Pokemon Blue Venonat Starter - Part Fourty Four
Battling Hive before Victory Road begins
This is a play through of Pokemon Blue by using RetroArch to emulate the game. I am randomising the Pokemon in areas with similar strength so it isn't completely randomised, while choosing three starters of similar types
Heading East from Viridian City with a fully healed party of strong Pokemon we see Goliath meet his rival Hive, before getting to Victory Road and in the same spot as the battle back when he had just started out.
A battle started to test out their Pokemon teams before heading on to go face the Elite Four after Victory Road.. with a level fourty seven Rhydon being Hive's first choice to show, he does have strong Pokemon!
It was a shame for him that Blastoise could use hydro pump to one shot Rhydon, opening up for an easy second fight against an Abra which needed only one bite that was critical.
Next was an Exeggcute which was almost defeated before it could get off its Solarbeam. This move did so close to half the health of Blastoise that after it was defeated, it had to be changed out but this was also a smart move considering, what was coming out next.
It was a Zapdos next which means they both had one for the three legendary birds each but it was Venomoth chosen and poorly, that got off a psychic for some lower damage before drill peck wiped it out with one critical hit and was Goliath's first loss this battle.
Muk was the better choice to come out besides Moltres which should have been chosen.. but sludge poisoned Zapdos while the second one was enough to finish it off. Not without taking a heap of damage from drill peck two times, since it was faster than Muk and was able to bring it down two thirds of its health!
Only two more Pokemon remained in Hive's party with his Eevee being evolved into Vaporean for a strong water type to use, challenging Muk and bringing him even closer to fainting before its last move secured this win and it left just the one more Pokemon..
Arcanine it was!
Blastoise had to come out to get off the hydro pump, luckily it was enough to just do the damage and secure a quick victory and the win over Hive, leaving a bruised and battered party of Pokemon to now be healed on both sides and then Victory Road, here we come!
Shortly after the battle was won and they parted ways and had healed and then Goliath was back to the same spot, it was time to use some more rare candies that were getting quite low now but, more levels meant stronger Pokemon ready for the Elite Four. Judging by Hive's Pokemon level's it was going to be required that they were stronger!
So the biggest leveling was done on Dragonite to sixty five while Muk was risen up to level sixty. The others all got a good chunk of levels as well except for Blastoise but he is a tough one already and now to go through Victory road to show off the badges!
Emulator used: RetroArch with a Gameboy Colour core
ROMS: Pokemon Blue after being put through the randomiser
Saving: (Used for quick loading and for getting back to before I had all Pokemon faint, if I lose and so it is quicker.)
This was Pokemon Blue Venonat Starter - Part Fourty Four
Stay tuned to see how I go with leveling, what team I am using and my journey as I progress through Pokemon Blue.
