Dying to leave this village

I get through that nearby house to find some bolt cutters needed for opening the gate into the next section, which presented more houses and a barn. The barn I managed to find some more handgun ammo inside so that was nice and limits how much I will have to rely on the knife in fights.

You can barricade doors with cupboards which was cool to do and once it was, it was time to check upstairs which had more handgun ammo and also some chem fluid to help with making a first aid that would be crucial to helping out but I had no green herb to make it.. so I would have to be careful and then that's when after going back downstairs, a zombie broke the window and was checking the place out so it could come for me.

That zombie backed off but another climbed through the window and tried to attack me. After fighting it off and getting to my feet it lunged at me once more to take a bite.

The handgun rounds were unloaded into this bastard and after quite a few shots, it finally ended up hitting the floor and I could breath again.

I had to use the first aid med to recover from the multiple hits received lately, which put me into the orange for my health. It goes something like green is good, yellow is caution, orange is you are a bit messed up now and then red means you are about to be dead.

After it did the animation of just layering the meds liquid that looked like water, onto the same arm as it always will do, I moved outside passed the cupboard that was keeping my barricaded inside, only to be met with a sight I was not liking one bit.. a couple of zombies had perched themselves on top of a nearby roof and were watching me.

I wasn't risking being surprised by them so I started shooting at the closer zombie, which saw both come down for me and after I got another shot off and decided to preserve some ammo by using the knife when I was not used to the fighting, I got bitten and was now hurt quite a bit.

The knife did so some damage so that was good.. but then I had one lunge at me and it did a big bite. Now was when I realised, it wasn't such an easy game because I ended up having this bite kill me due to not having any meds left.

This time I was able to take out more while using up all my handgun ammo because this zombie attack wasn't just a couple of them.

When I got a crystal skull from one zombie that died, I was happy because I knew this would be handy and likely something valuable to sell. I managed to take out a couple more with the knife and could go out to the next spot in the village.

Getting knocked back and dragged away a short distance which was part of the story, makes you wonder what is happening next.

Multiple zombies including some on horses, were helping this big guy with a get lost mess you up sledgehammer, boy did he like making his presence known and his breath stunk bad!

After the excitement of old mate being in my face and then taking the zombies away so I could fix my wounds, the nearby gate was open and an old lady in a black coat was waiting for me, but before that I decided to check out the nearby houses, managing to find more handgun ammo and the biggest find was the shotgun which would be very helpful.

Only a few other things were found in these houses. I went back to the gate and spoke to the old lady who brought up my need to visit the castle, that I would find what I was looking for.. well I guess I had no choice anyway, I got to keep exploring and find anything I am looking for along with my daughter Rosemary.

I can tell just how much fun but also just how tough this game will continue to be, as I progress through, get to tougher enemies I have to face and likely die or come close to dying many times!
