The Forest Adventure Continues

Hello and Welcome back to my blog!

Let's continue the survival series in The Forest. We crash landed on this foreign land along with many other passengers. We tried to survive the weather and attacks from the native cannibals.

Making a big wooden fence wall proved to be a good strategy at first, but then we were met with some tougher enemies. Some kind of mutated beings roaming around with multiple limbs. These were tougher to kill and they charged at us, breaking our defensive walls with ease.

We made some traps outside our base and also made some hunting structures and traps for the animals. Catching rabbits and birds was the easiest of all.

Figuring out how to trade items between us took longer than expected lol.

We managed to get on a raft and found some supplies. We found a Cassette player, a cassette tape, something to eat, drink, etc. And some ropes that we desperately looking for to make some more stuff, especially for the treehouse that we were planning to make to stay safe from those deformed enemies.

But when we were coming back to our base after spending the day on the beach gathering more supplies. We were attacked by two groups at the same time and they got me. There were just a couple left when I died but she took my revenge and killed the remaining ones.

I like the death screen; it shows the number of days I survived while the cannibals eat me right there. 15 days is not too long but the game gets progressively harder as you survive longer.

We started encountering more raids during the nights, and the deformed stronger enemies were harder to kill.

Wearing armour helps but these suckers are ever persistent and you have to constantly make and equip more armour as they usually breaks it in one hit.

I got bored of just defending and not exploring much, so I decided to explore more and hunt some animals, which were essential for making more things. I wanted to craft a Water pouch and it required 2 deer skins.

Finding these deer wasn't too difficult... I love hunting in games, so it was one of my favorite things to do. Killing them was a different thing. It takes more than one arrow to hunt them down, and after the first arrow, they just run away, and if you take a bit longer to shoot the second arrow, they will magically heal, which means you have to shoot two more arrows again lol. This mechanic was a bit weird but nothing you can't get used to.

We made a tree house to avoid confrontation and sleep in peace. We weren't still sure if these cannibals can climb trees or not. But after spending a couple of nights up there while they were down and waiting for us to come down. I think they cannot climb up, at least not the ones that we have encountered so far.

Another horrifying aspect of this game is the caves. These caves are cold, dark and full of enemies. But at the same time, they are full of good loot and more clues on the missing passengers.

Bodies hanging from ceilings with only the lower halves remaining, some had just limbs and no torso. It is not a game for the faint-hearted. At one point I had to eat a human leg too. Survival is the highest priority at this point...right? One of the weirdest things I ate in a video game for sure.

These caves are like mazes too, with multiple entry and exit points. One of the exits took me to a completely new place. Roaming around alone at night in this peninsula is certainly one of the stupidest things you can do. I still do it just to see how far I can stretch my luck.

Water is your best friend against any attack. These cannibals don't seem to know how to swim and I am exploiting that a lot. lol

Every time I am in a bad situation, I try to get into or when I am out in the open, I try to explore close to the water so if something bad happens, I can go in the water and swim away.

Up north there is a snowy mountain, and to enter there I need to make a warm suit, but the list of things I need to make one is very long. But everything is pushing me towards that mountain and I think I will find a way to exit this hell through there. Until then, I will just try to survive.

Thanks for reading...

Until next time...

Heh, those are sounding like zombies (monsters) very creepy of course they shouldn't know how to swim else that'll be so unfair and brutal at the end😅
